There are cute places all over the country but then there are those few that just stand out from the crowd. This place is one of them. Unfortunately pictures don't do it justice but at least you'll have an idea of what to expect. There is seating inside and out, so if the weather is agreeable enjoy the fresh air. This is hometown USA at its absolute finest. From the moment you walk in the door there are smiles everywhere. We were greeted by a lovely woman who made us feel as though we were part of a family we didn't know yet. Everywhere you look inside this cute little restaurant there's something to see that you missed at first glance. As we sat there and people entered and left the waitress blew us away as she knew every one of them and called them by name... Our fellow customers also treated us as old friends and included us in the joking as they talked. Yes, It was just that amazing! Kathy, (the owner) came out and gave us a warm hello and shared a bit of knowledge of the surrounding area sites to see. Even her husband was making jokes from the back. We went there for breakfast because a fellow we met said this is the place to go and he wasn't lying! Everything we had was wonderful, we both left full, happy and with delicious doggie bags! Kathy's kitchen is the single best restaurant in all of Hamilton Missouri. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, but that is definitely a good thing. Kathy is an amazing cook, and so are all the other cooks she has on staff. Her server Tracy is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and she never lets my glass get low, or anybody else's for that matter. During the middle of the week, most of the time on Wednesdays, they do a smoke special that includes burgers, brats, and ribs, and is absolutely delicious. We like to try the local “hole in the wall” restaurants that people recommend, but this one was a no-go for us. I keep hearings lots of good things but the at least the Mushroom and swiss burger was gross, seemed like a frozen patty covered in packet brown gravy and canned mushrooms. Chicken sandwich was similar, tasted like freezer burned frozen chicken patty with way too much mayo. Fries were okay if they weren’t cold though. Maybe eating in person is better?
