Lakers Landing — Restaurant in Hamilton

I've spent much of the summer in this area, been to Lakers many times and brought friends & family to Hamilton. The consistent theme has been; everything thats come out of this kitchen has a WOW! factor. That's the recurring reaction from my friends. Cocktails are prolific & creative. Many craft beers on tap and (speaking as a previous 10 year restaurant wine rep) an uncommonly upscale wine selection, for the area. This place has been a restaurant for many years but the new owners have been in charge a little over a year and are killing it. I can't speak for prior ownership. Anyone who's been to any restaurant since covid knows help is hard to come by in an industry that has frantically busy periods, just twice a day. Small towns are even harder. The servers I've had are so personal they are like your own. If we want to have nice places to go, we need to be patient. Good food doesn't come off a shelf! Come with time to enjoy your drinks, lake view, & lake comradary atmosphere while awaiting an amazing meal. Get to know your servers and help them help you so this service to Hamilton will be available the next time you want upscale...

Terrible experience on December 7th. 45 minutes after we ordered our food, we still hadn’t received anything other than waters. All the tables around us (that had come in after us) all had their salads finished and appetizers as well. I Checked with the hostess (since we hadn’t seen our waitress in 45 minutes). 5 Minutes later, the waitress came by and said our food would be out in 15 minutes. I asked if the order got put in, she said yes, but this proves it did not. Clearly, a mishap happened and we had to pay the price. The manager came by after we got our food and was completely unprofessional. She kept blaming being shortstaffed and the kitchen staff for us not having our food. I explained that the kitchen staff still managed to get everybody else’s salads and appetizers out, so it could not have been that, must have been something else. She would just say “I don’t know” and “sorry”. That’s it, didn’t offer to comp even a dollar. Ridiculous and unprofessional. Also, the Cobb salad lettuce was hard...

We sat there for almost 20 mins without anyone coming to even bring us water. We asked the waitress serving table next to us if we could order drinks & she said I’m not your waitress but I’ll find one. Nobody ever came. My husband tried to flag down another one & she turned away & took orders at another table. I’m sure that table had been waiting too but at least find someone! We had called at 5:45 & they said they had tables open. We went ahead & reserved a table for 6:30. Hostess felt terrible when we left, bless her heart. We went down to Howies & had waters & a drink order in within 2 mins. Waitress was a dream. I guess we’ll never know if Lakers has good food cuz there...
