Was in town for the day to take a behind-the-wheel test and was recommended this place by the woman administering the test. Decided to give it a shot based on her recommendation since we were both hungry, and she seemed excited about it.
Rustic little place with an outdoor patio section that is dog-friendly, which is cool. Apparently there is a drive-thru, too, which I hadn't noticed at first but saw someone using on our way out. We ate inside and it was clean enough. The only employee wearing a mask was the lady who took our order, so keep that in mind if that's important to you.
I got the Storm's Special, I think, which was a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink for a very fair price. Ordered some chicken tenders on the side, too, to try them out. All of the food was good enough for what it was but all of it was relatively bland in taste, particularly the chicken, and the fries were soggy and tasted of old oil.
Not sure if we caught this place on a bad and/or slow day, but I wasn't impressed, personally. No crazy complaints for a tiny burger joint, but my experience doesn't line up at all with some of the other reviewers clamoring about it. The service was good, at least, and the dude who brought my food out to me was in a great mood, so that was nice.
Apparently they have another location in Lampasas, but I'm not sure. I may give that store a shot but I probably won't be returning to this location anytime soon. Maybe you'll have better...
Read moreWhile traveling this past weekend, I decided to stop at Storms to get a burger. It has been 10 years or better since I had stopped here. I wasn't impressed then, but thought maybe it was just an off day, give it another try. I went thru the drive-thru to get my order. I ordered a cheeseburger add mayo, no tomatoes and onion rings. I have ordered this same burger at many places over my 50+ years of eating burgers. Pulled up to the window, received my order and specifically asked the "less than friendly" staff member "can I please get some ketchup?" to which she replied immediately "yes, I put some in the bag." She sounded so confident that I thanked her and drove on, not looking in my bag. Yes, my mistake. I made it a distance down the road and went to eat my food. No ketchup!!! The burger was dry, bun was burnt on the top, lettuce was wilted, there was a ton of mustard and mayo and no onion, no pickle. Absolutely no flavor what so ever. I guess years ago when I stopped it wasn't just a bad day, just bad food. If you are looking for a hole in the wall delicious greasy burger, this is not the joint! As far as the onion rings, they had zero flavor as well. I am certain they were out of a package, frozen. I sure needed that ketchup to choke all of this down. The tea was good. I do not recommend Storms. You...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Hamilton to visit a friend, we haven't ever eaten at a Storms before, we don't have one in Waco. I called the order in ahead the girl on the phone was polite and knew the menu. I went in to get our food it was close to closing time but the restaurant was neat and clean, the staff greeted me as soon as I walked in. I didn't have to wait in line nor did I have to wait for our food it was hot and ready. We ate in the truck on the way back to Waco, there wasn't a peep out of either of us. Those were hands down the BEST cheese burgers I've EVER eaten. We both got the double cheese burgers with double cheese add bacon, and an order of small tater tots. Storms idk what yall do to ur burgers and tots but I won't ever eat and another burger unless I drive the hour and 10 minutes it takes to get there!!! I wish I could give 10 stars cause I sure would. The food is GREAT and it's...
