Toss N' Sauce Italian Pizzeria — Restaurant in Hampstead

Rarely do I make reviews. I feel this is necessary because it has involved children and Especially my child with Disabilities. Called to place an order for delivery as I wanted to for my friends daughters birthday party. My card got declined so I was quite but I knew I had the money So I was also confused. I told them after my card got declined that I would call back in a few. My friend said no big deal. We will Grab my card When we get back to the house as we were on the boat down the street. She said her children enjoy another place so she ordered from a different place. Not thinking anything of it because I never officially confirm the order, the driver showed up. We were all very confused. We never confirmed the order and my card did not go through. The nice gentleman that dropped off our food, called his manager to discuss the confusion. He asked me to speak with him on the phone so I explained to the manager what happened and he said they tried to put the card through multiple times after the phone call so therefore they continued, but never called me back to confirm. The driver called the manager to see what the confusion was all about, and then asked me to speak with him on the phone. I’m gonna put it in the nicest way he was very rude and nasty and told me they assumed I would call back and not to order through them again and that he wanted the food back. Hung up the phone and you can tell the driver understood where I was coming from and seen seven children upset as the pizza came and is now leaving. My son does not communicate so that caused a tantrum as he is Partially nonverbal and not able to understand why he sees food and then it’s going away. I’m more upset how the manager dealt with the situation rather than taking food back. Treating me with disrespect and the lack of communication and no accountability is just not professional. I order through like three times a week and now they have Lost a customer and I’m sure that I will not be the last one if they continue in this manner over their own mistakes. It really upsets me because I love this place, but there is no way that I will come back after being spoken to With such disrespect, it makes me sick. I waited a while before giving this place my review. This place is local to my work. It's at a small town intersection, and so being a small town is basically the only option for a cheap dinner at night. I come to be dependent on their schedule and service as a second shift worker. Tonight was the fourth time I've had a meal either changed or canceled because of their schedule. The first three times I've had issues it was because despite their advertised closing time of the grill as 30 minutes before their scheduled closing time, they decided to close the grill earlier. No big deal. Cold subs are fine. Tonight, despite closing at 9, I couldn't even place an order at 8:20. This place could get a steady customer spending 30-50$ a week at their establishment, which I'm sure is impactful in this small town.But at this point I'd rather pack my own dinner than roll the dice anymore.good sandwiches otherwise. I used to frequent this restaurant. I buy from them on rare occasion now, but nothing tastes the same. The stake bomb subs taste like fake meat and lack the seasonings they used to have, and just pile on a ton of pepper. The steak salads taste very bland like they bought the cheapest vegetables possible or when they're on sale. They don't put in as many veggies into veggie+meat combos. The sauce for the pizza tastes cheap. The boneless chicken used to soak into your mouth, it was delicious. Now it feels like someone heated up frozen chicken nuggets and painted them flavoring on them with a paint brush. It's honestly sad and gross, I can't believe a prime restaurant that has made amazing food for years would cheapen out on ingredients to save an extra dollar per order.
