A capstan can be a device used to lift heavy weights. In the case of Capstan Bar and Brewing Company lifting a mug of their craft beer is not heavy lifting, it is enjoyable and refreshing. The heavy lifting at Capstan is how they treat the community that they call home.

The Hampton Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #26 was contacted by Capstan Bar and Brewing Company about helping us raise funds for "Cops and Kids". which is our holiday event for children. Basha and Adam of Capstan Bar and Brewing Company proposed that they devote their Saturdays in June 2019 to fund raising for "Cops and Kids".

Well the efforts of everyone at Capstan Bar and Brewing Company makes it possible for eight additional children to attend "Cops and Kids" this year.

A business is suppose to make money, or they don't last long. Capstan Bar Brewing Company goes far beyond their own needs. They have created a place that not only knows your name; they know the name of your kids, your dog and all your friends. All people are welcomed there. They put on events to help non profits and those that could use a helping hand. Inclusion of everyone is the rule not the exception.

I could go on singing the praises of Capstan Bar and Brewing Company until the beer goes flat. I would never stop singing because with their quality control that will never happen. What will happen at this small place with the big heart, is all that enter will be greeted with friendship, and will have not only a good time, but a great time.

I have been to Capstans Brewery several times before and have always enjoyed the pleasant vibe and, of course, the delicious wings on Wednesdays. However, my recent visit was marred by an incredibly rude and unprofessional bartender.

Despite being a regular customer, the bartender seemed disinterested and unfriendly towards my husband and me. She purposefully overlooked us when taking drink orders, which left us feeling ignored and unwelcome.

When we brought this issue to the attention of her manager, the response was equally disappointing. Instead of addressing the problem seriously, the manager made light of the situation and even joked about it, which was completely inappropriate.

This experience left me deeply disappointed and uncomfortable. The casual dismissal of our concerns and the apparent racism underlying the bartender’s behavior is unacceptable.

Bartender was inattentive. Walked away as I was ordering a drink to attend a regular I suppose. Didn't ask how our drinks were. No water. And handed the us the check after 1 beer. Place was filled with kids which is weird for a drinking area. As a person who comes from a brewery town this was a major let down. Not even food was an option. EDIT: In response to the owner, which thank you for reaching out so quickly! On your question of elaboration the counter top was filthy. We personally had to clean it ourselves which shouldn't have happened for a place not so busy. We weren't greeted or directed to sit anywhere. As a small business its important to have workers who represent your family business and be welcoming to not just regulars but new comers! It was all very exclusive to new visitors.
