Review for Sunday 29:11 Soul Food Kitchen
âââââ
Wow, where do I even begin? My experience at Sunday 29:11 Soul Food Kitchen yesterday was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we walked through the door, the beautiful atmosphere enveloped us, and we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. We were seated quickly, and the complimentary water and cornbread blew us away. The cornbread was soft, moist, and just the right amount of sweetness â I loved it!
Now, letâs talk appetizers. I had the fried angel eggs (a delightful twist on deviled eggs), which reminded me of my childhood. The name "angel eggs" feels so fitting, and they were absolutely delicious! My boyfriend opted for the buffalo alligator bites, which were a flavorful explosion in every bite. My brother chose the spinach and crab dip, and let me tell you, it was incredibly hot, cheesy, and scrumptious! My sister ordered the fried salmon bites, which came with a sauce they call âpretty sauce,â and they were perfection!
For my main dish, I decided to go bold with the fried red snapper â head on! Honestly, I couldn't help myself; I was literally licking the bones for every last bit of meat. It was that good! The mac and cheese was so delectable that I found myself wishing I could take a full pan home. As for the collard greens, they tasted just like my grandma used to make â the kind of old-school, flavorful goodness that makes you feel at home.
My boyfriend and brother couldn't resist the popsicle lamb chops, and after tasting one, I can confirm they were the juiciest and most flavorful lamb chops I've had in a long time. Trust me, you need to run, skate, or drive fast to this restaurant!
But wait, the experience didnât stop at the food. Our server, Dasia (I hope Iâm spelling that correctly), was simply delightful. When my sister inquired about drink flights, Dasia eagerly looked into making it happen for us â the level of customer service she provided was truly refreshing. You rarely find that kind of dedication anymore!
To top it off, the owner, Tony, came over to greet us. It was so impressive to see him cooking, serving, and even washing dishes â it showed how committed he is to ensuring a great experience for his customers.
Long story short, I can't recommend Sunday 29:11 Soul Food Kitchen enough. I already canât wait to return, and Iâll definitely make that 30-minute drive! Thank you for an unforgettable dining experience!
Sorry I didnât get pictures of the food because one my phone went dead and the other is because I still wouldâve probably forgot because once the food was set on the table I was ready to eat. But I did get one...
Read moreVisited at 7pm on a Friday night. The establishment was clean and everyone was nice. This includes the servers and cooks. There was only about 10 tables and a small window bar. Pink fish does sale alcohol though which is always a plus. Food - Only one dinning in and it took ~45min to get my plate. Ordered a caesar salad (romain lettuce) and got this garden salad blend with caesar dressing. This meal is supposed to come with scallops (which is why I chose it over the Trio), but I was informed 3 minutes before I got my plate they were out of scallops. Several bones were in the filleted fish and a few shell pieces in the crab cake. I was able to work with it, but would have been disappointed if my daughter was eating it.
Suggestion to owner: Have the kitchen inform the waitresses if the orders will not be as described on the menu. I would not have ordered a salad if I knew it was going to be a blend of lettuce. Also would not have ordered the platter if I knew I wasnât...
Read moreHello and welcome to my review! Where to start? Beautiful restaurant. Right amount of lighting, pleasant decor, nice layout. Friendly service and prices are comparable to other restaurants of its caliber. When most people go out to eat we want to know if the restaurant is clean. Is the service good and how are the prices? Most of the time if any of there are off, itâs a turn off and it doesnât matter how tasty the food is. Now to the meat and potatoes of this review. For us tasty was an understatement. Our meals were delicious & everything was seasoned just right. Oh the gator (alligator) bites!!! Two words âHoney Chile.â Iâll let the pictures do the rest of this review. I highly recommend. 4 stars is only because they were so busy (good for business) it took a while for our meal to arrive. I look at the wait from the perspective of we were in line waiting for our number to be called, and it was worth the wait....
