Rigdon's Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Hampton

The staff member who did my transaction was great, but that manager, or whoever she is, is very disrespectful and very rude. When I was doing my transaction, another lady came up and was very abruptly rude asking how much was lemonade and insisted on buying it when I was paying my order I called in and was picking up, and she almost made me trip to side the way she rushed in. The staff that served me told her she had to wait while she was serving me. The lady insisted standing too close to me and I asked her to please move over some because it's a trigger for those to be in my personal space. She ignored me. I asked my service staff to please tell her move over for she was triggering me and making me more anxious and aggravated. The woman, yelled that she ain't doing anything to me and when the staff moved I said please move, and she said shut up and she ain't gotta, I snapped move, you are triggering and making me anxious. That is when the other staff who I think is manager, not sure, demanded me what was the issue and I told her I just got out of an abusive, traumatic mental institution hospital and the woman was causing problems, she snap at me and told me don't come here with all that causing havoc and trouble. We don't need that and told me move over in another side when I was there first paying my meal, AND...I was waiting for my card and receipt. I am normally a regular here with my dad. But my dad can eat keep business with them, because TODAY was the LAST day I eat their food, do business with them, and TIP them!!! I thought I would never have this problem with Rigdons!!! This WAS my favorite restaurant to eat, but now it's my LEAST!!! I wish I could rate 0 stars!!!! Worst customer service and help and mental health...

If you find yourself traveling U.S. Route 278, which runs from Arkansas to Hilton Head, consider picking up some mighty fine fried chicken at Rigdon's en route to your destination that day. Fried chicken travels well.

We stopped by 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday afternoon, the chicken offerings were limited but still served up hot and fresh with a smile.

Bottom line: We think this is some of the best fried chicken we've ever had anywhere.

Either call ahead and pick up your order inside OR place an order on the spot outdoors at the side window. In other words, the indoor counter is for called in orders only.

Rigdon's sells more than fried chicken and they say their hamburgers are made with fresh, handmade patties.

Best fried chicken I've ever had. There's a reason there is a line to place your order. We'll worth the wait. I was in the area visiting, so glad we drove by and saw all the people. I just knew this chicken had to be the best with that many customers in life e.

I had the 2 breast with fries and coleslaw. The chicken is SO meaty but cooked to a tender juicy perfection while the batter is light and crispy, not over done. The batter is season to perfe tion, I didn't add salt or pepper, it didn't need it! There is batter for every bite!! I filled up completely on one breast and enjoyed the se one readt the next day. Warmed it up in my air fryer and enjoyed it as much as the first day.

I'm not sure how they offer such ge erous portions for less than a meal at a fast food joint but they do. If I ever pass within 30 miles of Hampton, SC again I will detour to Rigdon's for sure!! Exceptional service and...
