I called The Logger House tonight to order 2 dozen wings to go. I ordered buffalo sauce on the wings with a side a ranch. The server on the phone asked if I wanted the sauce on the side and I said no. So I was told it would be ready for pick up in 30 minutes. I arrived to pick up right on time. I sat for an additional 20 minutes for my to go order. While I was waiting I asked the server if I could go ahead and pay so I could grab the food and go. She told my the total was $25.99. I gave her my Visa card and when she brought me my receipt there was an âconvince feeâ of a dollar and some change. I didnât ask nor was told about this convince fee. I just wanted my food. I finally got my food and got home just to find the 2 to go boxes melted together, no sauce on the wings, and 1 small side cup of wing sauce and one small side cup of ranch for 24 wings. Wow- it wasnât even enough for 12 wings. I was frustrated so I called the restaurant and talked to a server. She then put me on the phone with the owner. The owner immediately started getting loud with me. She told me the server wrote sauce on the side and when I said that wasn't what I ordered she was going to put me on the phone with my server. I guess to hash it out. I spent 12 years of my life working in restaurants. One of the most important things I learned was never to argue to the customer. The second most important thing is the customer is always right. I know things happen but all I wanted was an apology and for the owner to make things right. I have referred a lot of people to this restaurant and I will never again put a good word out. I will have no problem letting everyone know how unprofessional my phone conversation with...
Read moreOct 2020. I've eaten lunch there twice this week-- a Tuesday and a Wednesday. Both days the food (grilled tenderloin and a 1/2 pound burger) was tasty, well prepared, and served hot.
I was particularly impressed with the grilled tenderloin. It was huge, tender, and with the optional grilled onion and Swiss cheese it was one of the tastiest sandwiches I've had. Two friends also had the grilled tenderloin and were equally impressed. A special bonus was that they have Boetje's dark mustard, which is produced in the Quad Cities.
The burger was reasonably priced at $7, as was the tenderloin at $9 (grilled onion and Swiss cheese added another dollar). They are served without sides (available at extra cost). The days I was there they also had a meatloaf and mashed potatoes special and a sandwich wrap special. Pepsi products are the fountain drinks ( $1.75 with free refills).
The server was very friendly, we were waited on quickly, and the food arrived quickly. The restaurant is large, clean, and interesting ( set up to look like a Northwoods lodge). There is a nice outside dining area (in the process of getting a roof, but waiting on scarce building supplies after the large windstorm a few weeks ago)
We totally enjoyed our visits and...
Read moreHere now!!! Service is the worst. Our waitress doesn't smile or converse at all! AND WE'RE SITTING AT THE BAR!!! The other waitress is just glaring at my wife the whole time she walks up. I ordered the philly chicken. DRY! There was NO CHEESE on it!! And two tiny pieces of chicken on the one side. You know, like the pieces of chicken you get in the deli section at Walmart, in the johnsonville box, only the chicken in the box is better. My wife got the chicken buffalo, so little sauce that you can actually see the chicken through the sauce ( kind of like what melted butter looks like on your toast). We drove all the way from rock island. First time here. (And last!) Building is awesome! Lots of tvs. Cool. But everything else??? No way! Oh, we just had a customer walk up and take empty beer bottle to the bar from their table because the waitressing is horrible. Sorry owners! But I won't be coming back and neither will anyone I know. That's bad to say but we are hanging out just to watch the game, we haven't seen anything change since we've been here. I have pictures and I wish I could post them. Thanks...
