We had a great evening at Fiddlestiks, and I wanted to take the time to share just how pleasant the entire experience was. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. The hostess was warm and cheerful, and our waitress was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great meal.
I ordered the prime rib, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The mixed vegetables on the side were fresh and well-prepared—no overcooked mush here. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well, and we both left feeling full and satisfied without being weighed down. You can tell they take pride in both their kitchen and their service.
The interior of the restaurant is clean, inviting, and cozy, with a rustic charm that fits perfectly for a regional favorite like this. The bathrooms were clean and even nicely decorated—an often overlooked detail that added to the overall sense of care and quality.
One thing we noticed—and appreciated—was the clientele. We visited on a Thursday night and saw several groups of what looked like local high school students out for a nice meal. They were well-behaved, respectful, and added to the friendly atmosphere. It’s clear that this is a place locals trust and return to often.
We’ve since learned from others that Fiddlestiks is known for their wide menu, including popular favorites like their homemade soups, burgers, salads, and a great selection of pastas. Many reviews highlight their generous portions, reasonable prices, and excellent desserts (next time, we’ll save room for one!).
Whether you’re just passing through or staying nearby like we were, I’d highly recommend adding Fiddlestiks to your list. It’s one of those rare places where everything just clicks—great food, great people, and a comfortable, welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re...
Read moreWhat can I say… I’m sure most people around here like this food but man where do I start? I ordered the filet minion med well.. it was beyond well done, tasteless, dry and chewy.. it wasn’t cooked with salt, no salt at all! No salt on a steak?? I had to use the salt shaker and watch the salt bounce off my cold, hard steak like hail on a tin roof. I ate less than half. I selected the steamed vegetables as my side and it was without a doubt frozen from a bag medley… awful.. oh yeah, it was covered in cheese… I don’t remember the menu saying the veggies are covered in cheese.. wt*? And the salad, the salad was lame, just lettuce, with dry, tasteless, rubbery sliced olives from a plastic jug, feta and croutons no tomatoes. The server was colder than my drink… I felt rushed and they weren’t even busy.. she never asked me how my meal was or why I only ate half of a $35 steak or anything.. the only politeness she displayed to me after taking my order was thank you when she dropped the bill, because of course she wants a tip right? Well she got $3 more than she deserved. Im from the west coast where they have good food and people eat fresh vegetables… if you like everything covered in cheese and dull bland food with bread and other fried, cheap food that is terrible for your health this is the place… fortunately for them most of you midwesterners do which is why this place is still in business.. they wouldn’t last a month where I’m from… if you like fresh food that is at least somewhat healthy maybe go to the grocery store and get something because there isn’t much else in this town worth a darn either. I came here because all the selections in this town were poor and it was next door...
Read moreWe really enjoyed Fiddlesiks!! We were seated within a few minutes of our arrival. The place is cavernous in the back! Reallyl a cool, huge family dining room with plenty of huge tables for big families, plus booths and small tables. You don't have to wait to sit in the bar area (if available). Our waitress, Phoebe, was AMAZING! You should absolutely ask for her if you dine here. She was on point and super kind, efficient and fast.
We enjoyed the generous dinner salad which came as part of my wife's fried shrimp dinner, which she LOVED! The salad was HUGE! 4 oz of dressing too. I always have to ask for extra. Not here. If you DO need extra, it's 4 MORE ounces for 59¢, which is a bargain. I can't imagine using 8 oz of dressing, but you do you. ;) The Fiddlestik that came with the salad was delicious! I LOVED it! My wife thought the bread was under cooked, but I like doughy bread (and cookies).
My chicken fried steak was simply outstanding! I don't think it was hand breaded, but I don't care. The taste was there and it was everything. The mashed potatoes and gravy may be the best I've EVER had! They were spectacular! Fiddlestiks has it going ON in the kitchen!! WOW!
I love that they have salt and pepper shakers on the table PLUS a black pepper grinder on every table! Fresh ground black pepper is a staple in our house and we loved it here. We were full as ticks with no room for dessert. Maybe next time, if we skip the salad, but I want that...
