2nd time there, first didn't have reservations, so left. This time had reservations, they even remind you with text msgs. So highly recommend reservations.
Now the reason for the 4 Stars, would have been 3, if not for who I think was the Mgr coming by to see how are meal was, She was great, as well Mark, our waiter was also great. Can't say your hostess/ greeter was very frendley.
The young girl who greats you and selects your seating, needs to up her customer services. We walked in, yes we're dress for casual dining, She looks at us as though we didn't belong. Straight face, no warm greating nonthing, Not even welcome to Jesse's, Just, Can I help you! Very cold, again straight face greeting.
I give her my name, 730 reservations. So all she says is follow her, justers to another young lady. Not even have a nice dinner.
Now when I called in for reservations, I asked for a view, and was told I would be seated in the garden room. So we follow the young lady who is now taking us to our seats, and she takes us to this little table, stuffed in the corner, just on the other side of the severs both.
I tell her that I was promised a view in the garden room. She looks down into the room, which there are available tables, and says she will be right back. She comes back from talking to Ms. Personality at the front, and tells us that those tables are reserved. I asked what time are there reservations? There are actually enough open tables to serve close to 20, remember this part.
She heads back to front, this time I go back to the front as well and I tell her, when I called for reservations and asked for a view, was told I would have view in the garden room, not stuff into some corner.
With several none verbal looks, she gives us another table, which we follow the girl down into the garden area. Very nice, well lighted, very open.
Mark, are waiter shows up, welcomes us to Jesse's answers all of our questions. Checks on us throughout the meal. I had the Top Sirloin, very delicious. Barbra had fish with brown rice. The rise wasn't very good. She said it tasted sand.
That's when I believe the Mgr came by, She asked how everything was? We told her about the rice, which She apologized, offer a replacement side, which Barbra choose the potato. She left and was back in no time with the side. Thank you. I'm sure Mark would have done the same, he was actually cking on us when she returned with the new side.
Now back to the part I told you to remember, about all the tables beeing reserve. We got there at 730, left a little after 9. During that entire time we had dinner, they only sat 1 other table of 4. So what happened to all of them...
Read moreBefore my meal here tonight, I have never felt emotionally moved by a meal.
You know that scene in Ratatouille where that critic eats the food and he’s instantly transported to the memory of his mother making him a comforting meal after a rough day? I always assumed people that felt that while eating were just full of themselves, but no, I understand now.
Starting out, my wife and I during our honeymoon have been trying Shirley Temples every restaurant we have been going to and as soon as I took one sip of the Shirley Temples they prepared for us tonight, I was instantly brought back to sitting in a Friendly’s with my family, drinking a Shirley Temple for the pure joy of the cherry and fizzy flavor.
Then after having the best spinach and artichoke dip I’ve ever had in my life, I ordered the New York Sirloin and it was cooked a perfect medium rare, and for the past six or so years I have always ordered medium at restaurants because they usually never do medium rare correctly, but I gambled here tonight and they did it to perfection. It reminded me of my father grilling absurdly large sirloin steaks on the grill outback for our little home cookouts for my cousins or sister and I.
The broccoli accompanying the steak tasted just like how my mother would make it when I was 16-17 and going to the gym with my friends six or so times a week.
Then the beautiful cheesecake dessert tonight brought back the pleasant memories of going to Ruby Tuesday’s with my mother. We were always quite poor but my mother always allowed herself the treat of getting a slice of cheesecake from Ruby Tuesday’s when we had to go to Concord. The blueberry purée, which is something I have never been a fan of on cheesecake, tasted so unbelievably fresh and vibrant that it brought me warm thoughts of picking blueberries at my Grandma and Grandpa’s farm.
Phenomenal, truly outstanding experience that made me literally tear up while eating dinner.
In addition, I want to note that Anthony was a...
Read moreGood food, we were seeking a trusted restaurant based upon pre pandemic experience at Jessie,s but was disappointed today.
OK, I was seeking a public health conscious restaurant and was willing to pay a rare extra $ for that. We appreciated the sign proclaiming a mask is required while walking to your table, then you can take off your mask once seated at the table. I observed servers to be masked. I saw happy diners accommodated in a clean looking environment including outside dining. We were relieved to experience in what I believed to be a careful and conscience management adaptation to a difficult pandemic problem. The rest of the story.....
We ordered a great meal, except too much salt on the lobster roll, nice service until I saw multiple restaurant behaviors in disregard to Hanover, New Hampshire public health mandates. The behavior of this restaurant's manager on site with (bookkeeper looking lady at the bar) in 2 unmasked close contacts which was very neglectful of CDC social distance,
2 customers in different parties unmasked to be escorted to tables,
Our server shaking hands with other customer. I thought "fist" bump was the appropriate exchange of greeting but shaking hands allows the petrie dish of palms to spread virus?
Customers should be able to feel confident that public health considerations are respected. I did not experience that at Jessie's today.
I discussed my concern after a good tip and paying our bill with the server. This server directed me to the manager. The manager did not respect social distance to allow my complaint to be voiced as I requested. He took a chair 4 feet away.
He then asked that I leave.
Public health must be a hard job. I guess I will be more discerning to where I go. I tried to explain that the Delta mutation is now rampant and respect and responsibility must be assumed by those in frequent contact...
