I was not impressed with this place. The service was good, but that was about it. I got the Chicken Parm. The sauce was overcooked, heavy, very salty, and also had some sort of sweet flavor to it - maybe barbecue? Whatever it was, it wasn't for me. The pasta was okay, but it didn't mix well with the sauce so there was a lot of plain pasta to be had. The chicken was the best part, and did a good job of masking the shortcomings of the sauce. The atmosphere was okay, and was definitely improved by the live music act that could be heard from the tavern side.

We get takeout at least twice a week from the Olde Hitching Post and the food is always very good with generous portions. The staff are wonderful. Last night I got the seafood gumbo special, and it was amazing! Lots of seafood, the sauce was absolutely delicious, and it came with garlic bread on the side. It was really enough for two people. And very reasonable at under $25. I highly recommend this dish! And the lobster roll is consistently excellent with a generous amount of lobster. We love the Olde Hitching Post!

I happened by on my way home and I was told the post had a good brunch so I thought I would check it out!😝The brunch offered so much I couldn’t possibly eat that much. I settled on the crispy chicken wings(10) for a reasonable $ , I’m so glad I did! They were so delicious and crispy too! The bartender Katie was super helpful, great smile also! Ask her for a recommendation she is willing to give suggestions. Cheers &EnjoyđŸ„ł

The food was really good. I had the buffet and it was great. The waitress was very nice and friendly, but not very available, but I think she did her best. I can't blame her, because it was swamped on Easter. There should have been more servers, but in this current society, it seems very few young people are willing to work, like at all - let alone a tough job like waiting tables. So I can't really blame the management either. It's just these freakin entitled brats these days don't want to do anything but look at their cell phones and grunt occasionally. And I was never the greatest restaurant worker myself when I was young, but I showed up and tried hard. So that's more of society's flaw than the restaurant. The manager was working and very cool and friendly. My only real complaint is the seats in the booths were the kind I find occasionally, that seem to lean forward, instead of slightly back. I want to be chillin when I'm out to eat, not feel like I'm being pushed into the table. Also, they were too close to the seats behind me. I felt like my head were merging with the guy behind me. I'm pretty claustrophobic, so that part was tough for me. I would go again, but not at a busy time and I wouldn't...

Picked up take out last night- our first time there. The women working the patio kindly directed me inside for my order. Although there weren’t many people dining in, the take out was busy! One woman answering the phones, taking orders, expediting the completed orders and ringing up the sales. For as busy as she was, her pleasant smile and polite demeanor were delightful! She finished the phone order she was taking, began to help me when the phone rang again- assures the caller she’d be with them as soon as she was finished helping me, checked the clothesline of slips, the multiple orders bagged up put on her gloves, ran my card and made happy small talk while the transaction authorized! Meanwhile, a second person came in behind me, and I actually started to worry about the person on hold! As I exited, she said hello to the person behind me, asked her to wait for a moment and took the call without missing a beat. Stellar customer service! 4 stars because we had take out, we hope to dine in sometime in the...

My husband and I went for dinner on 07/03/25 about 6-6:30PM. There was no wait in the dining room about 3-4 empty booths. The waitress that seated us said she would be right back to wipe down the table. We NEVER saw her again! After sitting there for about 10 min we flagged someone down who was walking by and asked for a menu, she returned, put them down and left. Not saying that someone will be with you, we’re a little shorthanded tonight, whatever - nothing. We sat for another 10-15 minutes still waiting for someone, but no one came. In the meantime 3 gentlemen came in and sat a few tables up - again they were ignored. They finally did get up and leave and we followed! We eat here on occasion as it is a short drive. But these day it is too expensive to eat out and also be ignored without any explanation. On the way out a family of 5 was waiting at the abandoned hostess station. They left behind us. All tolled they lost 10 customers within about 30 minutes. Won’t be returning any...
