Carver Hangar — Restaurant in Happy Valley

My family and I had been running errands all day and was looking forward to eating here, but for our first time coming in it was a awful experience!

So we come into the restaurant and yes they are busy it’s a Saturday night, but there are few tables available to be seated at. My family and I waited to be seated and after 10 mins no one saying anything finally someone comes up to seat us.

We get seated and the gentleman who seated us goes to grab us a menu and two woman behind the bar were upset that we got seated at this table. I’m watching this exchange happen from my table. So a few mins past by and this other gentleman comes over to get our drink order, but then we sat and waited for 20 min. No one came over to us. Other people were seated and orders were taken and still nothing for our table. One female server came over twice after that just to say someone would be with us. We continued to wait and then finally gentleman came over to take our and we were told there was a miss understanding on who was serving our table. From my impression from this whole experience someone was upset that we were seated in there section. Because all the tables next to us was the same server but our 1 table?

But my first impression was not great we left and went to a different place. We probably won’t ever come back.

In all my life visiting restaurants, I've never written a review. For the first time in my life I feel compelled to. Why?

I went to the Carver Hanger and had such bad service I literally walked out.

I came in absolutely starving and wanting a beer. A waitress gets me the beer pretty quick. It was fine because it was definitely busy, and I - one person - was sitting in a 4 person booth. Groups of 3-4 starting coming in, so I was taking up valuable table space. I offered to move to the bar. Not ideal, but I wanted to make the servers' lives easier.

Get to the bar, and the waitress who I talked to when I offered to give up my booth has a conversation with the bar waitress about me.

Apparently I did something to piss them off because I sat there watching people come in and get service one after the other, while servers did their best to ignore me. I couldn't even get their attention. It's only after I put cash on the table to pay for my beer and walk out that a waitress finally comes over.

I seriously don't know what I did to piss them off, but apparently the waitstaff will willfully ignore you if you offer to make their...

A couple friends and I met here for lunch today, and we sat outside. The food was very good, and our waiters were excellent. We had one guy who waited on us and brought us the bill, and another one who actually brought out the food. They were both very pleasant and efficient. The only issue we had, was with the noise level on the patio area. Unfortunately, they are sitting on the highway, right by an intersection. Besides just normal traffic going by, there were cars and trucks starting up from a stop, as well as big trucks powering down to stop. At times we had to stop our conversation until a vehicle passed by. The outdoor seating would be a lot better if they were able to put it on the other side of the building, but that wouldn't be an easy task. I don't like being negative about this, because otherwise our experience was very nice, but we will probably meet up somewhere else next time, because we get together from to time to time to catch up.
