Ernestos Pizzeria — Restaurant in Harbor Beach

We ordered the dough sticks & large pepperoni pizza. The dough sticks were really good, the bread has a very good flavor. The sauce was not my favorite but they did have a nacho cheese option that would most likely be really good with them. For the pizza, the dough/crust was good same as the dough bites but a few issues. For just a normal cheese pizza this was way too much cheese on it. I like cheese and even double would be ok but this was to the point we couldn't eat it. The next issue i have with the pizza is the pepperoni was put under the cheese. I don't know why anyone would do this. You end up with uncooked pepperoni, the best part of a pepperoni pizza is the cooked crisp pepperoni on top. Also has the same sauce as the dough bites. Ending up tossing out half the pizza but...

Very nice in my opinion. This is not a fancy restaurant at all. First time for my wife and I. The Pepsi is served in the can. A straw was provided. The dining area is about the size of my bedroom but it was very comfortable and clean. Or hostess was the waitress, cook and server. I ordered a house special medium pizza. Wow, it was very good and we could not get half way through it taking the remainder home in a sturdy box. The five stars is because the pizza was so good not because it is a fancy place. I have going to Harbor beach and Port Hope since I was a little kid. I have never ever had this place until this weekend and I have to say I liked it, so did the rest of my party.

I thought the amount of cheese was fine (especially for cold pizza!) the pie's had a nice fluffy dough and the toppings were hearty and plentiful. My only issue is that toppings underneath the cheese, I don't mind the idea but it leads to the toppings slipping off the dough.
