I'm giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly and attentive.
We stopped here because there was some great reviews and a couple mentioned it was GF friendly and even mentioned a separate fryer.
This was not the case. They don't have a separate fryer. The girl that spoke English clearly didn't even really comprehend what GF was. However, after we explained a little, they did offer to cook corn tortillas in a skillet.
We debated leaving but we were hungry and sometimes these little hole-in-the-wall places are the best so we gave it a chance.
If you order water, they only serve bottled water with cups of ice. My cup was dirty and another cup was cracked.
The GF orders were 2 asada, 1 chorizo and 1 carnitas tacos. The non GF order was cheese and chicken nachos. All the reviews mentioned how flavorful and delicious the food was. I honestly think they were for a different place. Everything we ordered was bland.. to the point of almost tasteless. I've never had chorizo with less flavor. We ate most of the tacos because we were hungry but the nachos went to waste completely.
Wanted to love it. Will...
Read moreThe food was okay, authentic but definitely not the most authentic I've had. No chips and salsa, so that lost me fairly quickly. The guacamole was meh and the queso (cheese deep, as it was listed) was cold and bland. The rice and beans are delicious. I didn't like that each person got their food one at a time and it took a long time, but I hope that was because it was all fresh!
The building itself was dirty, from the main entrance to the table and chairs we sat at with food covering most of the chairs and still lingering on the table. There were 2 men's bathrooms and one hidden women's restroom, located in the shop portion through several hallways.
I loved that we were served bottled water and glasses of coke! The fact the only TV we saw had 9 different camera angles surrounding the building was odd.
Overall, I wish I had stopped elsewhere during our pit stop to Savannah. But I've probably had worse experiences at chain...
Read moreWe were traveling and eating out with Celiac disease is not easy. I was searching for something that would not take too long but was tried and true. Find me gluten free pulled up Los Cuates as an excellent choice. Oh my! SO Yummy!!! I ordered the fajitas with the homemade corn tortillas and because I don’t like beans, I got a double side of rice. It came out on a sizzling skillet and was absolutely delicious. The salsa is slightly spicy with fantastic flavor. The chips are also their homemade corn tortilla chips made in a dedicated fryer. The fresh guacamole is absolutely delicious. My husband, who does not have to be gluten-free, ordered the churro Pollo and was delighted. There were leftovers. The portions are generous. The service was phenomenal and although the waitress did not speak English and my Spanish is very limited Google translate got us through everything else we...
