La Tampiqueña Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hardeeville

Came by to try some Mexican cuisine have some beers but was highly disappointed. I stepped in was told to sit anywhere so I chose the bar. Asked what I wanted to drink told the kind waitress give me a minute. She came back with chips and salsa. I asked for queso I got that 5 min later. I eventually stuck with what everyone else was having the Modelo. Was given that immediately. Watched the Ten v Flor game all the way till the half time and still wasn’t even asked about food. Eventually ordered the enchiladas huastecas. I maybe a bit ignorant about Mexico cuisine so this maybe normal but the beef that I got on top was dry and I mean so dry i was moving my stool while trying to cut it. Never was asked if I’m good. I wanted another beer but was never asked. Tried to get some attention, but to no prevail. Eventually I just got up and paid and left. Shady! If you are a person of any another race besides Mexican, DO NOT frequent this restaurant. I took my family here, and was overcharged on all the food. They even charged us for a drink we did not order. The menu is a sham, and when asked why the bill was so different from the menu prices, I was given a nonsensical answer, and I was not comped after even after paying the bogus bill, and a nice tip. You dont get a receipt until AFTER you pay, and by then, your money is just gone, and then it's "Oh there's nothing we can do.."...

This was not an accident, as I spoke to others before going to this place. It is a shame when businesses try to steal from you when you're just trying to feed your family. ...

Excellent food, very tasty. The service was terrible, I waited 36 minutes for my order and I ordered 28 minutes before arriving and they told me it would be ready in 10 minutes, it turns out when they delivered it to me it only came with half of the order, I said okay, just give me the money back for what I received.
