This the Second time going to this place First time was Great. Had great service,Food Experience. But this time it was the worst service we ever had ( Food & Cook were great ) The āwaitressā was the worst Weāve ever had period.. 1- after i got my coffee āļø and wife had water and asked for a straw she said sure walked away never brought a straw. Then came back to take our order. ( Still no Straw) 2- after taking the order Again asked for a Straw agin. (Nothing) 3- the poor cook put our order up for her to (deliver to us hot) ignored the ring and kept on doing something else. 4- Finally after walking by our Orders 3 times. She finally brought them over. ( both were French toast & Eggs. ) Never gave us any butter for the French toast. I asked for Sugar Free syrup because Iām Diabetic. Again, sure she said walked away never to be seen again because she said to THE COOK SHE HAD TO GO OUTSIDE. Never Cleaned any of the other tables off for other customers to go to. So the Cook came out and cleaned off the tables from guests that had left. While cleaning off the tables other guests came in to site at a table. 5- So now the Cook is Cleaning off the tables and now doing both. Taking orders and Trying to cook the orders bring coffees to the customers because the waitress still hasnāt returned to do her job. ! Wait on customers and cash out customers wanting to leave. In the meantime I had to ask the cook for butter and Sugar free syrup. For a meal that was getting cold. After finishing our breakfast we had to find our waitress again because she disappeared. After 10 minutes we got her attention that we wanted to get our bill so we could pay and leave. We gave her the cash for our bill. ( No lie ) It took ten minutes for her to figure out the change. I watched her look back and forth at the bill And register. Finally we got our correct change back. I feel bad for the cook who had to do the waitresses job and his heās a good cook and does it well. Now if we had this kind of service the very first time going there we would have never gone back. I hope they either get her better training or find someone else to waitress. The first time we went there the waitress was on the ball taking the orders and Trying cleaning off tables and had a great attitude and was funny. It may be awhile be returning after this visit. Too bad I liked it there. ( FYI to be fair. ) There was a total of 5 Customers in the building. When we walked in. Three had finished eating, one waiting for his food and us. So when we ordered our food there was only one waiting for his breakfast. I do hope it...
Read moreWe ordered for the first time recently since under new ownership. I was definitely a longtime fan for years of Whistle Stop, when it was in business by the previous owner. We decided on take out for lunch on 12/01. I ordered an omelet with cheese, onions, mushrooms. My partner got a cheeseburger & fries. The person who took our order over the phone sounded friendly & told me it would be ready in about 15-20 mins (accurate estimate). When we pulled up, we noticed many vehicles parked, so it was a busy Friday. Upon entering, we saw several customers, both at tables & the counter, yet no employees. We stood at the counter awaiting service to pick up our order, when a staff appeared from in back, after a few mins of waiting. The young lady seemed polite & rang us up at the register. It cost under $20 for the order, which was reasonable. It wasn't until we got back home & opened our to go containers, that we noticed how they forgot about the french fries, which I asked for with my fiancés burger. I know it's a small mistake, but it still was one, so I called to bring it to their attention. They offered to make some, but unfortunately we didn't have the time to go back. She did apologize, so I was glad at least for that. We also noticed after a few bites that the burger was not medium well, but more medium rare (we had requested "medium well"). However, my omelet was very good & it came with rye toast (bread type is customer's choice) as well as home fries, which I gave to my fiancé seeing as they forgot his fries with the cheeseburger. Overall, our experience was decent & we will try again. Hopefully next time we'll get everything we ordered & our food will be cooked to our preference, if offered specifics (like with how the burger was cooked). Makes me miss the way it used to be, but hopefully we'll grow to really enjoy the Whistle Stop with new owners. Worth a try! First impression could have been a bit better though to be honest. Update: We have been a few more times & had fairly positive experiences. Some wait staff could afford to be more attentive & become familiar with multitasking. Recently we were given coffee without cream & my wrap had no mayo, although I definitely ordered it with some. Overall it's a decent breakfast/lunch stop, but I do prefer it before, especially regarding service...1 waitress simply isn't enough per shift, as it does...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, I gave this place three chances. Each time I watched the owner's friends get served before me even though I was there before them. The final and last time I was there, I waited 90 minutes. I also had a child with me. At this point, a customer came over and told my family that the owner makes people wait if they (the customers) get annoyed (this was 60 minutes into it). Mind you, we had kept to ourselves, but obviously probably looked agitated due to the wait and due to a starving child that had also had enough of the nonsense. I think all the good reviews must be from good friends because I really wanted to make this a regular for our family, but every time (a span of over 3 years) it led to disappointment. The food certainly is not worth it nor is the service or the snarky buddies of the owner. Rose 32 Bread is right up the road and it blows this place out of the water. Go...
