Stefano's Brooklyn Pizza — Restaurant in Harlingen

Ok, so this was our first time coming here on a Saturday. And it was a mess. Sorry guys, idk what the hype is, but I needed to find out that I brought my family members too and their 1st time to. Anyways to start, we looked at the menu and decided what we wanted, so I'll start off with the 1st dish. It was to build your own pasta. It was angel hair pasta, spinach, mushrooms, and black olives w chicken because she asked what protein I'd like, I said, the chicken. Well, my order came, and the presentation was fair, yet NO Chicken, I'm like, I waited for quite 30 minutes for my dishes to come fresh to table and get this. It was creamy but over empowered with the Alfredo sauce that it got mushy. You know the over-cook taste, yet no taste needed salt and seasonings, so that was a flop. My pictures are proof. 2nd order she had soup & Salad and no it is not like the competitors all u can eat. This is a one-time serving just FYI. Well she ordered the wedding soup and wow a very bland tasted like clean water and just the pasta inside with no flavor very bland taste so she said I'll add salt and couldn't get the right taste at all so it was horrible, the salad says (House Salad) Stephanos if you're to have this menu please state ingredients in your salads to most house Salad has lettus,tomato, cucumber, egg, onion etc. No, your "House Salad" is Lettus and 2 tomatoes, really?? Nope, just so the client knows I'm stating this. The simplest dishes soup and salad were a Flop to. The 3rd dish was salmon, shrimp, and pasta, apparently the Saturday special. We asked the waitress what is it she explained it was a nice size salmon and shrimp on pasta. NOPE we get cube pieces, maybe like 5 cubes and 3 Yes 3 shrimp. Again, presintation was nowhere close to what was described in the 1st place. When it came to taste, it was like fresh build pasta, no season, no flavor bland pasta thrown on plate , and the protein pieces I just mentioned were not good either. So for the prices they charge for the food I didn't mind but hey, you're gonna pay what you get, and on something not worth the taste. Was it worth it? Absolutely NOT! I was so agitated that I asked a mgr that was there and told her Maddam if you plz grab a fork and taste the dishes they have not been tampered with she was kind and apologized for our food. I said it is Not your fault nor the waitress fault but rather your cooks. You need to go there and check on them. So overall, she apologized, and the 2nd mgr was there too and saw the plates of everything stated he agreed it looked bland, he stated that he tasted it in the back, but I wouldn't know, i didnt see. But he made a sauce for the salmon plate, but by the time the sause came pasta, it was cold, so there was no sense. They did offer to take the dish back, but by that time so frustrating, we gave up. Not to mention, we asked 2 waiters for butter, and guess what? The butter was super hard and took forever to get to the table for just butter. And that was for the dinner rolls i was like omg. Forget it. And the 1st mgr offered deserts for their mistakes, which is fine. I was not looking for free dishes. I just wanted them to know what the scoop on my order. So they brought the deserts cheese cake was good. And very thinly sliced but ok it was free. The tiramisu well was well served except 1 detail. When they bring your deserts people plz why is the handle touching the pie? Yes, the spoon is on plate, but don't bring utensils on the plate. It says a lot so anyway that was my experience we paid gave us a discount but will we return probably not. Here is my proof of dishes and deserts. So we went to Stefano’s to celebrate my cousin Maritza’s birthday. To start off there was no parking. People were parked in the grass all over the place and you couldn’t even get through. There was 15 of us and she made a reservation for 7:00 pm. People were coming and getting seated and we didn’t get a table until about 7:40. We ordered our drinks then our food. I ordered a personal pizza, my mom ordered a brisket sandwich, and my dad a Philly cheesesteak. My friend Ivonne and her husband sat across from us and he ordered a pizza as well and she ordered fried mushrooms and shrimp Alfredo. Everyone else down the table ordered as well. At about 8:15 or so I got my pizza, my parents got their food, my friend got her mushrooms and her husband his pizza. Another person at our table got her pizza as well but no one else. Awhile after the salads came for those that got side salads. My friend Ivonne asked the waiter to make her shrimp Alfredo to go and he said okay. My niece ordered an Italian panini and they brought her a chicken caprese. She told the waiter and he said that it was correct. She had to get the menu and show him that it was wrong. It was almost 9:30 and the rest of the table hadn’t gotten their food, including my friend Ivonne who was waiting for her to go order. She then told the waiter to cancel it and he said it was coming already. My cousin and her bf got their food a little after but it was cold. The manager “Victor” came and asked if everything was okay and we said no and told him what happened. He said that it was busy and the kitchen probably got backed up but he would find out. First off, we always love the food from Stefanos so there isn't usually an issue with that. With that being said I'm putting my rating because I was upset about the specific day we went and the service we got that day. We were also excited to go since we hadn't been since before the fire. So let me start. I called a week in advance to reserve a table for 23 people for my birthday, they assured it would not be a problem. Okay so on my birthday we are at Stefanos and we let them know we have a reservation, they let us know that we can't be seated until at least 14 are there which is understandable so we wait. Our table is ready finally and then they tell us we have to sit at two separate tables which was a little upsetting because never did they mention that. The receptionist was rude and acted like we were a bother. They then proceeded to sit us outside which was fine but they put us in the hot sun , when there were available tables in the shade and didn't give us the option to switch to anywhere else. We could've just left but all the people to the party had arrived and honestly felt bad to have everone get up and go somewhere else just like that. After that it was one thing after another. To start off with, they had one waiter for a party of 23 people, the waiter got orders wrong but he did his best which was very appreciated. One of the pasta dishes was just the noodles with three shrimp and dry it was supposed to be shrimp scampi, the bar drinks tasted watered down and the food wasn't the same as it lacked flavor.
