Crescent Moon Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Harrison Township

I've loved Crescent Moon and the people that work there. They are always kind and friendly. But when I come in on my work break for a tea and some ciabatta toast and there is only one person in front of me and no one behind me, I can not understand how it takes almost 30 minutes. My toast was cold and the hot tea for my coworker was cold by the time I got my food. I don't like being mean, but it is unfair to pay for something and it take so ridiculously long that I have now been on my work break for over a half hour for literally toast. I have people who are waiting for me to get back to work, and this is a poor excuse to be late. I hate to not come here when everything else about this place is so wonderful. It just makes no sense. This isn't the first time I've been stuck waiting for food, or had my order completely forgotten about. It's one thing when it's busy. I work in customer service and I am generally patient. But there is a huge lack of urgency from some of the staff, and it has finally gotten to the point that I felt the need to address it so that it can be corrected. I want to continue to come here but I am hesitant to more and more as these issues...

My wife and I look forward to our “coffee date” as she calls it all week. The Chocolate Decadence and the Truffle Latte are my favorites.

The staff is super friendly and patient despite the very busy atmosphere. As we have gone there for years they know our usuals and joke with us when we change up.

Everything I have gotten there is great. If you enjoy coffee you must stop in. The variety of drinks is astounding.

The winers and complainers are simply not getting it. This is a popular small coffee shop. It gets busy. There are times you wait a little. NEVER 30 minutes like that one review. But quality takes time. If you want fast coffee you can go to Dunkin Doughnuts.

I also buy their whole bean Morning Blend. We love it.

I recommend this place to all my friends and family. Ignore the internet critics. They are most likely Karen’s who complain about everything unless they are treated like privileged princesses.

Will update to 5 stars as service is always great and food options are awesome. The cafe is also very clean and quaint.

The espresso though - I don’t know if the beans are being over roasted and burnt or if the beans are being over extracted due to water temperature, ground too fine, or overdrawn but every espresso based drink and straight espresso I’ve had here is consistently burnt or tastes burnt. It seems like I’ve had shots being drawn 35-45 seconds at times so I’m assuming too fine or just blatantly running too long.

It’s probably been a total of 16-18 drinks to date as my wife and I keep giving the cafe a shot, and the burnt taste is always there.
