Richard's is a classic staple in Hartford City, I always enjoy meals from there time to time. The fish dinners are cooked perfectly the and seasoned just right. The side dishes are good as well, the coleslaw and seasoned fries with dinner roll are a perfect compliment. But can't beat the fried chicken. I have tried the steak and in all honesty it's a hit or miss with me. The steaks need to be more tender. The flavor is there with a good grill char, but the texture needs to be tender. I remember going to Richards as a boy and enjoy the Friday fish fry and some sides from the salad bar and it's still pretty decent for the money. All in all a would recommend to tourists or anyone wanting a family friendly restaurant that has a great variety menu to suit anyone's taste. The classics are always a good option and the meals served promptly, hot from the kitchen with little wait. The atmosphere has the down home relaxing feel. In town for the weekend, our party of 6 decided to stop for breakfast on our way out of town on Sunday around 9:45am. We were sat promptly, drink and food orders were taken. We received our drinks, then nothing. After almost an hour I asked the lady that had sat us if she could see how much longer on our food. She came back and said it was coming right up. We received it within 5-10 minutes and one guest was missing an extra side item she had ordered. She ended up having them remove it from her bill instead of waiting again. We received no apologies from the waitress or any other staff. I have a restaurant management background and breakfast should be one of the easiest and fastest meals to get out. This isn't a big restaurant, however they had more employees than much larger full service restaurants and most were just standing around, including our waitress that never checked on us. A properly managed restaurant could have done better service with half the number...

Sandwiches, burgers, salads, dinner entrées, lite fare menu, New York strip, sirloin, country fried steak, pork chops, chicken breast, stir fry, fish, many sides to choose from, soup, rice pilaf, home fries, french fries, seasoned fries, potato chips, mashed potatoes, baked potato, onion rings, vegetable, applesauce, cole slaw, cottage chees, tossed salad and fruit cup....they also have premium sides sweet potato fries, baked sweet potato, Caesar Salad, mac and cheese

Liked the shrimp and clams daily special. Liked the Chicken Tenders but were a bit hard crusted with breading. Good coleslaw. Applesauce was dusted with cinnamon or something... Love that they have Pepsi products! Service was friendly and quick on the refills. Prices are super low. Will be back to try...
