Ma' Mona Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Hartington

The restaurant has good food, and the atmosphere most definitely panders towards the younger generations with the instagram(y) photo spot. The vibes were kind of off, but that’s alright. Sometimes the vibes aren’t right at that exact moment. The chips were stale, and that’s a big deal in my opinion. But the salsa was really good. They had a small selection of two flavors of Jarritos, but it’s better than no Jarritos. I got the burrito el grande and I was slightly dissatisfied with it. The flavor of the red sauce did not mix well with the rest of the burrito. The burrito blanco was good, but the peppers in the burrito definitely could have been cooked a bit longer. The chimichangas were very consistent with every other chimi. The rice was a bit disappointing though. It could’ve used a bit more. The house-made hot sauce was amazing though. A rare 10/10. I had an excellent experience with Ma’ Mona. The service was quick and friendly. The chips and salsa were very good. Salsa tasted very fresh. I can’t remember the name of my dish but it was rice and beans with grilled chicken breast smothered in white queso and mushrooms. It came with tortillas. The prices were great. We come from a town that has more than 10 places to get Mexican food and our family eats it often. How amazing that in Hartington, Nebraska, we had a meal that hands down was better than anything at home!
