A Delicious Find in Detroit: My Experience at Hartland Grill Hartland Grill in Detroit has definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to restaurants. This is a great little stop!!! Gas and diesel and about 6 truck parking spaces!!! No showers drivers, sorry ☹ This is basically a mobil gas station, that has one of the best food service areas that I've ever seen in a truck stop!!! These guys have chicken strips better than any fast food place around!!! Fish, french fries, home fries, pizza, bread sticks, shrimp!!! Beer wine hugh selection all kinds of refreshments and snacks careful not to lose your children!!! It was actually very impressive for a small establishment like this!!! I highly recommend this stop for lunch breaks on the highway especially truckers!!! But plenty of locals come in too!!! Us23 exit 70 on Eastside of exit can't miss it once at top of ramp!!! Drivers if you're going to be sleeping at one of the rest areas n or s stop here first for some good road food!!! Rest area 12miles n on 23 or 12miles s on i96e!!! my opinion of Hartland Express Pizza is...The food their is over priced and not quality food. Most of the food sits on the shelf for four hours and isn't fresh. The burgers there are the worst I've ever seen or have ever tasted. The sides sit all day and are only refreshed when bought out leaving the mashed potatoes to smell musty. The pizzas are also 8 slices each no matter the size pizza ordered, the food their is almost a scam for the price you pay for the food and the quality coming back isn't always great. the Pizza slices are also always soggy when I get them and are for sure not the quality you pay for but they don't taste that bad.
