This evening Saturday March 9th, 2024. I was there with my oldest daughter to purchase some of their freeze dried candy. We have been frequent customers since last year (2023) after we found out about their selection of freeze dried candies and spend quite a bit of money there weekly on them. We have five kids who really like freeze dried candies and my husband and I also enjoy them as well. Every time we have been in there we have always dealt with the young man who works the counter who has always been polite. The first time my Husband and I came in we purchased 30 bags of the freeze dried candy and told the young man that we have five kids who have all been asking us for freeze dried candy so we purchased 6 bags for each of our kids for Christmas. Since then we have been coming back regularly and buy between 7-14 bags each time. We've become regular customers. The last few times my husband went in for them and has always had a pleasant experience with the young man. Then today I visited to buy more with my daughter. We were looking at all the candy and deciding what we wanted and was asked by the same young man if we needed any help. I told him we didn't and were just there to buy candy. Once my daughter was holding 4 bags and I had 5 bags in my hands I wanted to see what all we had and make sure I had the right amount of what each of my kids were wanting and I didn't want to set them on the floor (that would be gross) so we walked to the very first table right there next to the display stand and I made piles of each candy and was just making sure I had all the ones I needed it's important to mention that the young gentleman was standing right there the whole time watching us/looking our way nothing bad at all just doing his job and making sure we probably didn't end up needing help and just as I was finishing up going through them with my daughter I heard what I thought was someone say "hey"and I looked up to see if they were talking to me and there was an older man who came from the back now standing next to the younger gentleman and the older man says "Yes are you buying all of those!" Not in a funny or just curious type of way either but in a demanding type of tone as if I did something wrong and I replied "oh yes I'm buying all of these I have five kids and I'm trying to make sure I have what everyone is wanting is all, but yes I am definitely buying them." He replied in a very demanding tone and said "I want you to put those bags on our counter up here so we can see what's going on!" I immediately said "oh yeah no problem" and did just that but I was so taken back by his tone and didn't understand why he was so rude. Two customers came in while I was there to pick up orders could you imagine me laying out the bags of candy into piles and trying to make sure with my daughter that this kids pile is right and just figuring it all out while someone is standing there waiting for their pizza that would have been rude of me which is why I chose to use the first table right there. Nobody was in the lobby sitting down. I immediately took the bags to the counter when he asked and I wasn't even done I was going to get more but he was so rude by the time I got to the counter he was already in the back again. I told the young gentleman "I'm sorry about that" to which he replied "your ok" but I don't even know what I was apologizing for. I was so shocked that the older man talked to me like that and upset by his comment "so we can see what's going on!" I don't understand what he was trying to imply exactly. Here I thought I was supporting a small business and that I would be an appreciated customer but I was definitely not treated like they appreciated my business and instead came out to to tell my kids and husband that it may very well be the last time we give them any of our hard earned money. I was treated terrible. I would love to hear back from the owner about this. Not how I would think a small business would treat a loyal customer. Very upset and disappointed in my experience...
Read moreI have stopped in quite frequently asking if they have any slices for sale. They almost never do. I realize there are only certain hours that they do it, mostly after school for kids. But this just adds to the whole experience. On the occasions that they do have individual pizzas, bread, or slices for sale, they're usually old. So why do I keep asking for them? Well, I try to support local business, and it's better than nothing.
A couple of weeks ago I had a craving for an ice cream sandwich. Just before walking in, I noticed there was a sign saying they now serve hand scooped ice cream. I walked in, and saw that they still had the ice cream freezer. I was happy that they still at least had some, I assumed they were selling off the last of the prepackaged ice cream before switching completely to hand scooped. I opened it up, and reached into grab an ice cream. Before I realized that the unit was unplugged, I had already grabbed an ice cream, which was completely liquefied inside the package, and the smell was putrid. I immediately dropped it, closed the freezer, and went home to wash my rancid smelling, sticky hand. I didn't bother asking for something to wash my hand with because they were busy serving a group of people at the counter getting ice cream. There was no sign on the unit saying out of order, but why keep leftover ice cream inside of an unplugged freezer and let it rot inside your dining room?
The most recent time I went in was last night. I walked in, and out of habit, I asked if it was too late to place an order. I usually order food delivery from local restaurants, and I know that after a certain time it's too late to place an order. There were two teenagers behind the counter and one younger person, not sure if he was a teenager, in the back. The two at the counter immediately said yes with smiles on their faces. The third person came out from the kitchen, said yes, looked as watch, looked up me and smiled and gave an enthusiastic yes. They did not even ask me what my order was before giving the curt response. I could have been asking for a salad (which is what I came there for, but they didn't bother asking). I could have been asking for a small cheese and pepperoni pizza, or a pre-made pastie and a beer from the refrigerator, or an order of bread. What time was it? It was 33 minutes before closing. If you advertise that you are open until 9:00 and you stop serving people more than 30 minutes beforehand, then you are not open until 9:00. I could understand if you delivered as most delivery places will not accept orders 45 minutes before closing, but you don't deliver, and I was already there. I...
Read moreDid not have a good experience with the food or customer service. Called to order and support local, especially as an old employee of the original owner. When we called to place the order, we were told it would be at least 45-50 minutes because he was alone and busy, and we were not read our order back nor given us the total, which we were okay with. Upon arrival at the full 50 minute mark, I was advised the pizza was still not ready and needed a few more minutes; totally ok. I agreed to pay and was given the total of $81 and some change, which was a huge shock to me since I had only brought in $60. I went back to the car for more cash and paid for the total. I then had to ask for a receipt which was when I discovered an additional pizza more than I had ordered. When I questioned it, the lady at the counter (who said she was called in because they were unexpectedly busy due to the concert at the library) went to the man in the back to tell him I didn’t order 3 pizzas, and only wanted 2. He came out and told me that I had said an extra pizza with extra toppings on the phone. I explained that it was my son in the background asking for extra cheese and pepperoni which I had explained on the phone, I even said “my son asked for extra cheese and pepperoni on the pepperoni one, he asked if you could make it an extra most bestest, or the best pepperoni pizza you’ve ever made”. Yes, I have a 7yo who loves this pizza from another place. All I was responded with was him yelling to the woman to take half of that pizza. She didn’t even understand what he meant, so I said “I think he means give me half back or what I paid for that pizza I didn’t order”. I was so upset at this time that I said nevermind just give me the pizza, I guess we’re eating pizza forever, to which she said I can freeze it, then and I left. Once I got home and explained what happened to my family, my mom decided to call back to find out what he didn’t offer to keep the pizza I didn’t want and he told her there was nothing he could do now. So here we are with so much extra pizza (because it was also so disgusting that no one would eat it). Needless to say, unfortunately we...
