Overall: Great wing spot for sure! Beautiful atmosphere, decor (went during Christmas season), and overall experience. Only thing we didnât like was the âseat yourselfâ and catfish. The seat yourself resulted in a delay in service, we had to get up and ask for assistance. After we were assigned a person it was pretty smooth sailing. (See Fish section below)
Apps: We ordered the - Cheese Curds (which were like garlic cheese bites) & - Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers. Cheese curds were unique and served with marinara. Pretty good! (Btw: Not the full order, they were really good and I almost forgot to take pics) The fried green tomatoes were served with ranch.
Wings: We tried the -Spicy Bourbon, Salt & Vinegar, Lemon-Yalu, and Sweet Heat Chili. Spicy Bourbon had a sophisticated taste, great pairing for a date night vibe. Salt & Vinegar was okay, I wasnât a huge fan of it on a wing but love it on chips. Still would recommend for true salt and Vinegar lovers to try (Iâm not one). Lemon-Yaki (Lemon-Pepper and Teriyaki) was delicious! Two flavors I love, one well crafted wing! Heaven! Sweet Heat Chili was recommended by a fellow Yelper. I like the taste but was too hot for me. I like spicy but this flavor was a lot more than I expected.
Fish Plate - 2pc: Simply put, we werenât a fan! Itâs catfish which has an acquired taste that we werenât fond of. The hush puppies werenât a huge hit with us either. My recommendation, donât risk it âŚ. Get the wings!
Fries: Didnât like them. No salt.
Service was great! We had a very nice waitress that advocated on our behalf to help with the dish we didnât enjoy. I highly recommend for those looking for a family of wing-lovers or even Hot Wing date night!
Update: Out of the three people that went with me, I was the only one that "spit out" the fish after tasting it. They have both experienced sickness over night with it coming back up. Make your own decision. (Again, wings...
Read moreRant about Blazers of Hartwell 𤏠Went to pick up dinner after calling ahead to order. It took an additional 15 mins more than they had said it would (that was fine, I know theyâre busy & Iâd rather it be fresh) and $60 later & all of the items werenât even there đ So my husband called to let them know all items werenât there & see what they would offer to fix it. The young lady who answered the phone said we could either come back & get the missing items (to which we stated we didnât want to drive back across town) or sheâd give us a âticketâ for next time. He asked her exactly what âwriting us a ticketâ would entail. Instead of answering the question, she goes âhave a nice dayâ & hung up the phone.
So he calls back to try to ask her again exactly what âwriting a ticketâ would entail & how to redeem it at our next visit (after being hung up on). The employee then says âyou can come back & get them or not, thatâs really all I can do.â My husband calmly asks if there is a manager he can speak to about the situation. The girl he had talked to twice now says âhold onâ & then proceeds to talk shit about him having called twice about this. If youâre gonna be that dumb, at least mute the phone đ¤Śđťââď¸ She then hands the phone to a gentleman who says he is the manager. He would not identify himself as manager or offer any solution to the problem.
We have never had a problem with this establishment as long as they have been in town. But after tonight, I can promise you they wonât have our business again! Iâd rather go spend that money somewhere else & get decent customer service next time. This was just a...
Read moreLove their hamburgers, best in town. We like the diner type atmosphere, friendly staff and cleanliness. There is a nice looking bar on the other side, but we have only stayed on the restaurant side. THE BIG PROBLEM, Iâve realized that the wings are priced way too high for what you get. The last time I went I ordered the 5 wing combo which is actually 2 1/2 wing pieces, pre frozen fries and a take out dipping sauce for over ten dollars. I left hungry and disappointed feeling a little ripped off (I had a couple beers so I was still a little happy). ONE CHICKEN WING IS THE DRUMETTE, THE FLAT AND THE TIP. I understand the tip is not typically what is served, I like the tip though. That minuscule amount of chicken wing for over ten bucks is a deal breaker. Iâll make my own wings for now on or get them up the road at New King Wok where they serve incredible wings with the tip on the flat. We might go back to Blazers for the burgers, someday, but not for a while, put-off by this chicken wing discernment. And I know Blazers is not the only wing place that considers a wing piece a whole chicken wing, but Blazers wing price, again, way way way too high. The service is usually pretty good, but they can get a bit busy and erratic if you go at the wrong time. Oh and donât bother ordering the fried oysters, they never have them but continue to keep them on the menu. Dang it, typing this review has got me craving chicken wings again!âŚ..and New King Wok is closed...
