Bottom line: fantastic experience in all senses. The food was delicious, mixology crazy on point, and the ambiance is private yet friendly. Recommend.

Gluten line: no menu markers (see pics) but chef came to the table and helped us to navigate. However, plate arrived with bread on the side. Chef immediately cut that portion out, but disappointed with the oversight.

Long line: recommended by a friend, we arrived in a week night to a full house and live music. The wait wasn't long and we sat at table that was a bit awkwardly placed, given the tight spacing, but we made do. We started with drinks, which are pictured. Delicious! The double fashioned and chocolate fashioned were outstanding, and what you'd encounter at a New York speakeasy for $17 each. The Ftida Khalo was also a hit. The menu was extensive and when we asked about gluten free options, we appreciated that the server immediately called over the chef who was making his way around the restaurant. He discussed options and we ordered. My steak was very well made, medium rare as steak should be, and I overall enjoyed the meal. The risotto dish, the gluten free dish, did unfortunately come with two pieces of bread, and chef apologized and cleared it out and everything it was touching. We also noted a bit of a disorganized winesystem, with random bottles dispersed throughout and sporadic pricing. Overall I'd return for the mixology and food but I wouldn't...

I’ve visited La Cueva del Elfo several times over the years and always enjoyed the food, but my experience last night was very disappointing. Unfortunately, the quality was nothing like what I’ve had before.

The gnocchi were tasteless and chewy, and the NY steak seemed like it had been stored too long—almost past its prime. The salmon bites were overcooked, tough, and carried a fishy taste that made them feel far from fresh.

The biggest letdown was dessert. We ordered the chocolate cannolis, which turned out to be the worst dessert I’ve had in a long time. The shells were extremely hard, and the filling, instead of being smooth and creamy, had the texture of refried beans—thick, pasty, and without flavor.

The only positive was our server, who was attentive and polite, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. Still, this was by far the worst meal I’ve had in a while, and sadly, I won’t...

This place is wonderful cuz service is great. The atmosphere is nice. It is a bit small so it'll be hard to come with a really big party unless you book the whole place. But the attention to detail when it comes to how they put the boys together is nice. The server was very attentive even though it was a little slow for the food and drinks to come when the place is full and still enjoyed our time. Everything that we got I would recommend to anyone, especially the mocktails. I would definitely be back again. The only negative thing I would kind of say is I wish the proportions were a little bit bigger on some of the plates but I can understand especially if you give me the times we live in right now. Thank you but this is a wonderful...

I can’t say enough good about this place, the food, and the people. Being from the mainland US, we always go out of our way for this culinary experience while in Puerto Rico. They are so patient and amazing at explaining/translating the menu to us in English. I’m not a big alcohol person, but I’m so glad I gave their cocktails a chance. And the food... absolutely off the charts! The bartender and the chef are exceptionally talented. The service is amazing, and the friendly owner is always welcoming. You don’t want to pass up this work of art!

WOW! Just WOW! Everything was amazing. The drinks were amazing and beautiful, I had a mocktail made with passionfruit tea, ginger and lemon and my husband had an Old Fashioned. For appetizers we had bruschettas that were perfectly crunchy and zesty, croquettes filled with short rib and cheese which were huge and delicious and for dishes I had a carbonara pasta and my husband had the new york steak and eggs with potatoes and it was all to die for. The dessert was a unique and irresistible pistachio tiramisu. 20/10 Can I review twice?!
