So myself and my family were on a short vacation for the 4th of July weekend and stopped on our last night, 7/6. We just finished up a great meal at Mirro’s Cafe, which was delicious.

The kids wanted ice cream, so we found this small joint that looked like a Gem. The minute we walked in, there was a girl in a pink shirt with long black hair with her shirt hanging off of her shoulder. She looked to be the most unpleasant young woman we have come across in a while. As if our mere existence was bothering her. She hadn’t even said anything yet and we were definitely interfering with her night. She rushed us to order, and as she handed my youngest daughter her ice cream cone, it exploded in her hand as if she had a death grip on it while making it. It went all over my our daughter and all over the floor. We asked if they had a bathroom and she immediately replied no and was quickly corrected by the male behind the counter wearing a hat. He told us there actually was. The girl replied, “well watch out, it is full of cleaning supplies.”

She then put what our daughter had in her hands in a bowl. We then had to ask for napkins. Which the guy got for us. She then tried to hand us the bowl of strangled waffle cone and melted ice cream and proceeded to ask if she thinks she would eat it. In which we were dumbfounded.

I truly have never had such a bad experience at an ice cream place. We will never return, which is sad, because the ice cream was actually really good, and we visit the area...

Nestled within the serene surroundings of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Village Corner Ice Cream and Yogurt is a delightful find for both tourists and locals. This quaint shop offers a selection of delectable ice creams and yogurts that are perfect for cooling down after a day on the beach.

The range of flavors caters to all tastes, from classic vanilla and chocolate to unique local-inspired options. I was particularly impressed with their fresh fruit sorbets, which were bursting with flavor.

What makes Village Corner stand out is the quality of their ingredients and the care taken in crafting each scoop. You can taste the love and dedication in every bite, and the portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming.

The staff is friendly and attentive, readily offering samples and recommendations tailored to individual preferences. Their service truly adds to the overall joyful experience.

My family and I stopped this evening, and after waiting for about 20 minutes my daughter ordered a soft serve chocolate cone. The girl who took the order accidentally made it vanilla, but apologized and threw it away. The young man working reprimanded her for throwing it away and it should have gone in a dish. The girl was obviously sorry and the way he spoke to her was rude, especially in front of so many customers. Then, I ordered a soft serve twist in a cone with rainbow sprinkles. The young man brought me a twist with chocolate sprinkles. I asked him where the rainbow sprinkles were, and he then proceeded to tell me I said twist with chocolate sprinkles. He didn’t say, “I’m sorry, my mistake,” or “Let me fix that for you.” He told me what he thinks I said. He was very rude, and the girl who rang us out even apologized for the way he treated me. My husband says I should have told him to get me what I ordered, but I didn’t feel like arguing with a long line. After paying $30 for two small cones and two rather small sundaes for mediocre Hershey brand, I would at least like to be treated...

DO NOT ORDER A DOUBLE SCOOP IN A WAFFLE CONE ON A HOT DAY WITHOUT A BOWL!! I went to this super cute icecream shop today for a quick treat and ordered a delicious double scope and joyfully went outside to sit and eat. Much to my horror it started melting all over me in an instant. With only two napkins in hand and no experience in eating icecream at such a fast pace I was quickly overwhelmed by the treat. Swallowing my pride I quickly went back inyo to the shop to retrieve a bowl and a spoon with the face and hands of a toddler trying to eat. The workers were very nice and thankfully didn’t laugh at the sight of me because I believe if they did i wouldve cried. Anyways, icecream was great 10/10 recommend

Burrito says this is what you would expect from a small ice cream shop serving Hershey’s hard ice cream products. Dumpling says nothing spectacular is happening here, IMO. They lost stars because they were out of two flavors, cappuccino crunch and moose tracks. The portions were generous, and their waffle cones were better than Island Time Cups & Cones, that we were at a few days ago right down the street. This establishment does also have more enthusiastic staff than the other. They seemed to care more about customer satisfaction. They also have a shaded outdoor seating area, which is nice. At this one you can also view all the flavors, as the cases are displayed end to end in a line.
