Ward's Restaurant — Restaurant in Hattiesburg

The WORST experience we've ever had at any Wards - food and service! Our family loves the food at Wards but we will NEVER return to this location! Our order was wrong, not once, but WRONG TWICE (when they tried to correct it)!

We asked for biscuits and sausage gravy, but received tomato gravy. After going inside to get it corrected, we were told breakfast was over. So, we ordered a chicken sandwich, plain. We told literally 3 people that our son wanted it plain. After waiting another 5 mins, we got the sandwich and hurried to the truck to get to our son's baseball game. We were late now because we had been at Wards for at least 25 mins. He opened the sandwich to find it covered with mayo, lettuce and other toppings. WHY is it so hard to put bread and chicken together without extras?

The entire restaurant reeked of weed! There was no teamwork amongst the staff. Maybe this is the reason our order continued to be wrong. Also, the food that we did try to eat, was so salty that we literally threw away our entire order!

This is far from the great experiences that we've had with many other Wards locations.

Someone needs to provide extensive education and team building if this place has any...

I love Ward's Chilli-Cheese burgers!!! This restaurant isn't in very many areas, but everytime any of my friends, or just people in general, move away, when they come back to Petal/Hattiesburg area, most often they've GOTTA HAVE WARD'S! Either a chilli-cheese burger 🍔or a chilli-cheese dog🌭! They also have The BEST FRENCH FRIES in the south!!🍟 They're so soft and enough salt that you can taste it, but not enough to drown out the natural taste of the fries! I've often heard people say that there was a restaurant called "Frost Top" that is similar to Ward's. I've never been there, but if anyone knows of one around here or in the state, I'd like to hear about it, please. It seems like my mom said when she was a teenager living in Coldwater, Michigan, she had a "Frost Top" in that town, that had items similar to Ward's. In my opinion, their chilli is what makes their meals so interesting! My son likes their chilli-cheese fries! Overall, I highly recommend this fast-food restaurant to anyone that likes chilli, burgers, fries, or just a good hearty meal! Thanks Ward's...

Update: 4/22/23 I decided to stop by to get a chicken strip basket. The below picture is what I was surprised to find I paid $15 for. NEVER AGAIN!!! Popeye's and Raisin' Cane's don't even charge that much for 4 or 5 piece meals!!! Rediculous on so many levels!!!

Customer service is excellent how ever, I fail to see how the health department gave this facility an A rating. Bugs in light fixtures in kitchen area visible from the service counter, air vents and air return vents caked in dust. For folks with bad to severe allergies it would not be a suitable place to dine in. As for food, I got the quarter combo with spicey fries and sweet tea. Spicy fries were good and the sweet tea would be pretty close to the top of my list for good sweet tea. The quarter pounder left some to be desired as the hamburg pattie on my burger was for the budget burger and they were very stingy condiments with the exception of pickles this visit. They folks of this particular diner need to go to the Wards location in Prentiss, MS. It is by far the best Wards I've been to in a 100...
