Wonderful local place with a great selection of their own local dishes, plus Hawaiian, Chinese, and American foods. This restaurant was highly recommended by Corey (driving the van shuttle between the interisland Maui-Lanai ferry wharf and Lanai City) and did not disappoint. We took the food to go for our ferry ride back, and got the Chow Fun (Cantonese/Chinese language denoting a southern China pan fried dish of wide, flat rice noodles), which came with perfectly fresh salad greens with choice of dressing. We also ordered the grilled Mahi with one scoop rice and mac salad (due to two massive pieces of fish, there wasn't room in the to go container for another scoop of rice!). Read moreOf the 5 places we ate at while on Lanai for 4 days, the Blue Ginger was hands down our favorite for the best for food quality and value. It is apparent this is a locally owned and operated family restaurant. The portion sizes, quality, and price are what won this restaurant out for us. We enjoy immersing ourselves into the local culture as much as a tourist possibly can with a limited stay wherever we go. Their menu has everything to please anyone going there. They even have a bakery there with lots of fresh baked goods daily! If you like great quality food and don't mind not having a fancy atmosphere, this is the...
Read moreWe went here for both dinner and breakfast during our stay. The food was great and service was fast and, for the most part, friendly. The only things that took away from the restaurant were: 1. The counter help during dinner that told me I make bad decisions because I'm sober and was with a group of drunk people. We were on vacation for the long weekend and they were drinking... I'm in recovery... for someone to call that a bad decision on my part is irresponsible. And 2. That they wouldn't make fried ice cream for breakfast. Yeah, I get it... they get busy and can't accommodate special orders for everyone, but having been in the industry for a (far too) long time, I know how it's made and it wouldn't have cramped anyone's style. Hey! I don't drink! I eat ice cream...
