I grew up on the west side and this cliff behind braddah chics is where my grandmas ashes are. I have always supported them when i visit her even though everything they sell is overpriced and weak. -No longer. Yesterday was the first time since before covid i had found the guts to visit my grandma because of my car anxiety and the road there scares me. I wasn’t there for more than a few minutes, watching the rainbow ocean mist my grandma had sent from heaven, when the woman inside braddah chics started yelling from the other side of the stand. Confused and curious, i walked back around the stand only to realize she is yelling at me. she continues to yell calling me a stupid girl and joking about my ability speak english. by this point i was so confused and panicking so hard from her reaction that my bad coping mechanisms kicked in and i said nothing and just scared and silently walked back to my car and drove home. however i was able to conclude from the people around the stand trying to help me in my frazzled state, that she thought i had heard her tell the other people you’re not allowed to cross the black wire without paying. so apparently being blonde is a crime and braddah chics owns the sky now. (me and my grandma were having a moment and i wasn’t listening to you talk to your other customers- sue me.) Anyways, now i am awake at four am on trip advisor with a chest weight for my anxiety leaving this review, so if you want to sleep tonight i don’t recommend braddah chics. also their...
Read moreWhat a fantastic food truck on the way to the Olivine Pools. This is the side of the island they warn you about. The roads are narrow, extremely steep drops, and they don’t have guard rails. Would I do it again…? Absolutely. I highly recommend renting a Jeep for this excursion. It’s pretty remote so there aren’t any convenience stores or restaurants. No gas stations so you better start with a full tank. Just when you think you are in the middle of East Egypt, there it is — the Braddah Chic’s stop. I didn’t have any cash on me, but I was in luck. They have WiFi and accept Venmo. Best Pina Colada Smoothie I’ve had in my life. They’ve also got local art for sale. It’s interesting, I’ve watched several videos about Maui and they all say to stay away from this part of the island. It’s the area past the blow holes where the Olivine Pools are. These videos say “there’s nothing to see”. If you skip this part of the island, you will miss out on several local art galleries and spectacular views. Braddah Chic’s Stop is the perfect oasis along the less beaten path in the most rugged, natural...
Read moreThis place is all about location. Amazing views!!! Its on a top of a long curvy road. No matter what time of the day you reach, you would almost want to stop and find something to eat. This place has amazing views!!!! My family and I had Shrimp plate, Kalua Pork, Veggie Curry, Veggie Burger. Shrimp plate was really really good. Guess the shrimp was cooked with the shell on charcoal directly. It had a nice burnt flavor. When I visit again, will definitely order that. The Kahlua pork was bit bland for my taste. Not a fan. The Veggie curry had a lot of turmeric in it. It was okay. Veggie burger looked great but the patty was meh! Will try cheese burger next time. They also serve freshly squeezed lime juice. Was good especially on a hot sunny day. Overall a good experience. You don't have to drive down to this place, but if you are doing this drive...
