Gj's Huli Chicken — Restaurant in Hawaii

My husband's only goal while on vacation in Hawaii was to get Huli chicken we saw this place on Somebody Feed Phil and wanted to try it. They are only open on Sat and Sunday. We flew in on Sunday and so we had to wait all week for this. Some locals suggested another Huli chicken place south of Kona that was supposed to be good as well, but we left there highly disappointed. We were a little hesitant to try this after the other experience however the two are definitely not the same! Gj's Huli Chicken is delicious! You absolutely must add this into your vacation plans! If you don’t stop when they are fired up you are a fool. This is some of the best chicken you will ever eat in your life. We bought it on the way to the lookout and 6hrs later this chicken was falling apart. I knew when I grabbed this chicken it was either eat it immediately or wait and let the juices congeal. It was amazing. This chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned. It is so juicy it leaked through 2 bags, a cloth bag, onto the floor of our car, and after putting in into another plastic bag could we only stop the juices from finding its lowest point.

Huli chicken is one of the most delicious foods you can find in Hawaii. A huli was described to me as the Hawaiian word for something you do not want to do with your car, but for rotisserie chicken slow-cooked while rotating over a smoky kiawe wood fire, it is awesome.
