If hell served a beef taco

A lot of people like this place as evidenced by the crowd. We did not. Now, call us foolish to not order burgers or ice cream at a clearly classic burger/soft serve ice cream joint and compound that with ordering tacos. That said, my fish tacos we're pretty ok and my wife's beef tacos were absolutely the worst either of us have ever had. First she said no onions and they loaded them on both her tacos and side salad. Next, the beef. Oh the beef. If ever the environmental movement needed a clear way to dissuade the world to stop eating beef this would have worked. Overnight cessation of beef eating. Guaranteed. Greasy like crazy and a taste like, hmmm...I think an Amazon box sauteed with Schillings Taco Seasoning would win in side by side taste comparisons. My father who grew up with dire food shortages in Korea drilled into us to eat every grain of rice on our plates, a rule I mostly still follow and respect. I fully supported my wife stopping at bite three or so. I tried one bite and out of sheer awe tried one more. I did the honors of tossing them as Jolly Kone was already closed by this moment of post prandial trauma. I don't so lightly slam a business nor another's cooking though judging by the crowds and online reviews my petty feedback will not damage business. But if you value and respect to any degree the art form that is the beef taco, I highly recommend that you pass on Tasty...

I've been coming here for many years and I will say they make the best Bacon Cheese Burger in all the land! No Kidding! I live on the West Slope and only visit Bridgeport once or twice a year, the rest of the time I only dream of their burger. Don't even get burgers elsewhere anymore cuz they don't add up to the standard Jolly Kone has set. When I was a bit younger we used to backpack above Twin Lakes for a weeks stay at a time or so and as soon as we got out we would come and get a Bacon Cheese Burger, and after backpack food it was like Heaven. This review is long over do but when I first came here there was no internet, so Thanks Mr. Jolly for making the best Burger I've ever had!!!! Oh yea, one more thing. Burgers that cost twice as much don't...

Jolly Kone is a walk up and order burger joint, it has outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered. They have burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fries, they have snow cones and ice cream and milkshakes. This spot has a wide variety of things to choose from. We stopped here after Bodie State park. it was delicious! We ordered a Mushroom Bacon Burger and a Bacon Cheese burger. Both were delicious, one of the better burgers I've had recently. We also got milk shakes - they have so many flavors to choose from or mix and match. The burgers came with fries and I opted to uncharted to chili fries. Everything here was delicious, the staff was friendly and patient, prices were great and they had fast service. This is definitely a good place...

Jolly Kone, Bridgeport, CA Stopped by Jolly Kone for a quick lunch during a road trip through the Eastern Sierra, and it hit the spot without any fuss. I went for the black bean burger with fries—solid choice, with a hearty patty that’s flavorful and not overly mushy, paired with crispy fries that stayed hot. The rest of the group stuck to classic cheeseburgers, and they were thumbs-up all around: juicy, well-seasoned, and no complaints on the toppings. Meals clocked in around $11 each, which feels fair for the quality and portion size in this neck of the woods. Casual roadside vibe, friendly service, and a good break from the drive. Worth pulling over if you’re nearby. Plenty of parking, some in the forecourt and then on the road.

I woud say this as the best place to enjoy ice cream if you are traveling from hot Nevada side of the route or you are looking for delicious food for anyone traveling on CA Hwy 395!!. I myself based out of New Jersey visited South Lake Tahoe and was on my way to Yosemite National Park. We enjoyed having ice cream and burgers at the family owned jelly Kone place. We personally being vegetarian were amazed to find vegan and vegetarian options and really had a great tasteful food in this beautiful Bridgeton neighborhood. We liked the hospitality by different family members during our visit twice at the restaurant.
