We were given a birthday dinner gift for celebrating our 72nd birthday. We arrived very early and happened to meet Chef Jeremiah in the parking lot. After talking with him he suggested we walk around town until time for opening. When we arrived back and came inside we were in awe of our surroundings!! Then much to our surprise we were greeted by Host and hostesses Tommy, Lauren (who also shared she is a twin)& Arillis. Tommy said "you must be Val and Verna that Chef Jeremiah spoke about! We look forward to giving you a memorable experience here at the Copper Door! Please be seated or look around while we prepare for your dining experience!" Arillis escorted us to our table in the original dining room. On the way we passed through Ruby's Room. She explained that all the paintings were done by owner Chef Dennis's mother! After being seated Arillis introduced us the Amy our Server. She congratulated us on our birthday and took our drink orders. While she was doing that Chef Jeremiah came to the table and greeted us like old friends! Amy came back with our drinks and started helping us understand the fine dining we were soon to enjoy. We had shrimp sautéed in garlic sauce for our appetizers! The "pop overs" dinner bread with creole butter were delicious! Then Amy went over our choices for soup and salad. It was noted that I'm allergic to onions and she took extreme care in describing the preparation of foods. My sister chose Lobster Bisque soup and I chose Iceberg Wedge Salad. Those along with our appetizers was enough to fill us up! Amy then explained the different entrees to us. She was such a wealth of knowledge about the preparation and how different ingredients brought out the flavors of food. I chose the 16oz ribeye medium well with baked potato. It melted in my mouth! Amy substituted the vegetable of the day (caramelized carrots with onions and brown sugar) with asparagus spears. My sister chose Atlantic Salmon (grilled to perfection!) vegetable of the day and baked potatoes. Amy checked on us quite often so attentive and kind! We asked how long she had been here and she said 12 years. She definitely loves being here and was such an integral part of our beautiful experience! We told her we were getting full. She cautioned us to save room for dessert! When we let her know we were ready for dessert she promptly removed our plates assuring us the leftovers would be carefully boxed and be waiting to go home with us. She brought the dessert menu and we immediately settled on Bananas Foster. Chef Jeremiah came back to speak with us and said he knew our choice of dessert was truly a fun and delicious choice! I took so many pictures and a couple videos. After dinner Chef Jeremiah had promised we could have a picture with him. We met at the original entryway. Although we enjoyed the others we fell completely in love with Amy and Chef Jeremiah. Thank you for letting me share our experience! As we told them "we've never had such a privilege to dine in such an upscale restaurant and we felt like Julia Roberts in...

Hey guys long time local who has ate at copper door for years , many times inside with family and more take out than I can count. The food has been up an down over the years but I got really upset tonight!!! Ordered for my family as I do every time so it's always $2-300. Girl who took my order was super sweet , very thorough with menu options because the takeout is limited to the dine in menu on certain items. Anyway places my order she thanked me as I did her an told me 30 minutes it be ready. Few minutes go by an calls me back saying her manager made her call me and get the payment for the food before they would make my order!!!! And that flew all over me, nothing online mentions that, why not say something when I called first go round??? Hey I understand from a business as I run my own but if you start practicing that , you should put it online saying pre payment for food on take out, and or when u call it in first thing u tell the consumer is we now have to take pre payment for to go. It was so embarrassing to get a dam call back on speaker phone with my business associates right beside me making me feel like I'm going to jip them or something!!!! Then told me I don't have to pay for it if I don't want to , I said why would u call me back and tell me I had to then?????? I tipped the sweet girl who took my order $250 and told her remember me next time, an made me feel good she made more money than the restaurant did off the food it wasn't her fault her manager made her call me back wanting paid ahead . I'm sure others don't care but it really upset me. Food was awesome, good portions, can't complain there, but beware if u place a to go order have that debit or credit card ready to pay or expect a call back...

An incredible restaurant in the middle of Hayesville North Carolina population of 311. This place was an absolute gem, amazing food - this chef knows what he is doing!

It’s a set menu with four courses, first we had the gnocchi lamb and paddle fish Caviar. Both dishes were amazing had great flavors popping all over your mouth - different herbs and spices and the caviar was fantastic all the sides go with it were their and perfect.

For the second course we had the jicama salad and beet salad. If you’ve never had Jicama you should try the salad. Really delicious flavors the chef mixed in with the actual vegetable. And the same goes for the beet salad little oranges with the beets really went well together.

Third course was the lamb loin and the boneless pork chop. Oh my God! The lamb was cooked perfect medium rare the flavors were there with that wine sauce every bite was melting in your mouth. As for the pork chop a lot of people over cook them it’s the old superstition that you have to overcook pork and you don’t. The chef nailed it, it was tender juicy and flavorful every bite. The chef knows how to cook.

For the forth course we had crème brûlée and bananas Foster. If I see crème brûlée I get it every time. But I haven’t had bananas foster since I was in Paris many years ago and tonight both were deliciously paired and made perfect, excellent desserts!!!!

The atmosphere was really pleasant and really nice design, nice Decor. The service was incredible attentive spot on always there when we needed something.

I don’t know why this awesome five-star restaurant and chef is in this little tiny town serving up food and menu you’d only expect to see in NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Paris...but I’m...

This restaurant is a real gem in the middle of nowhere (apologies to the people of Hayesville but you truly are in the middle of nowhere). The menu includes some items for foodies (such as escargot and foie gras) but also some classic steak dishes, fresh seafood, excellent vegetarian dishes and wonderful desserts. While some dishes have a distinct Louisiana influence, others are just inspired creations of Chef Dennis Barber. There is something for every taste. We had a crawfish crepe and braised pork belly, a grilled caesar salad, and a spinach salad, scallops casino and duck breast, bananas Foster (flambeed table-side, which is always a treat) and a chocolate crepe. All fantastic. The food is well prepared. Service is as top-notch as you would expect in a fine establishment in a big city. The atmosphere is cozy and uncomplicated. Dress code is informal, due to the location in the middle of the mountains and many jean-clad tourists, but some suits and ties can be spotted as well. One recommendation if you plan on wandering through town while awaiting your dinner reservation, everything closes at 5:00 pm or at the latest 5:30. So make your reservation early, or get there just in time for your reservation. There are a couple antique stores in town that are worth the detour, so I suggest you just skip lunch and make your reservation for 5:00 pm...
