Crandall's Restaurant — Restaurant in Hebron

A few times I was here and ordered all you can eat chicken. Each time, the server asked if I wanted a box to take my food home, so I said yes. I know it is posted in the place that says all you can eat here, not at home. I get that but if the servers ask if I want a box, I am going to say yes. Now, today I was a there and the person who says she owns the place, she tried to argue with me about a take home box. I told her that I have got a box a few times and she was rude about it. I am sure if some of the servers offered a box to me, they have done the same for other people. I don't care how long someone owns a place, don't argue with a customer that has past experiences, hence the takeout box. If they do not give the untouched chicken to the next person, they are the one who is wasting it. Restaurants should be a nice experience but today was not which is why I am telling people who want to go there, do not order all you can eat chicken unless you can really eat enough for your money's worth. If I pay the menu price on chicken, I should be entitled to what I pay for. Eat there or eat in the parking lot. I guess all you can eat is supposed to be indoors only which it does not say. I hope everyone else has a better experience than I did. If your server asks you for a to go box, tell the owner so she can know it was not just me that the servers ask. I will not be returning; I will save money that way. Our party of 7 waited approximately 25 minutes before our waitress appeared. We had to ask who our waitress was first. And we only did that when we saw 3 other tables of 4 get seated, drinking and snacking on their bread well after we were seated. Their waitresses were moving. I stopped our waitress after taking drink orders and said we are ready to order as well. She didn't look pleased when I said that. We then waited nearly 45 minutes for food. I told my wife and guests that we should get up and leave. It was apparent that our waitress wasn't in any hurry as she was only working the room next to us. The manager or owner came out after we finished eating offering apologies for being short staffed. I stopped her midsentence when she tried to tell us that a party of 7 is a larger party to handle, and told her that it wasn't a problem for the party of 8 that sat down 30 min after us to get drinks and their food only 15 min after they sat down. Literally 5 min after we got our food. It was the difference in your serving staff I told her and looked away as I didn't need any more excuses. There was one time I came here before and the chicken was out of this world. If I knew the meal was not going to be great I would have left instead of waiting. What’s with restaurants charging extra to use your credit??? They can’t keep their prices up-to-date online, everything was a couple $ more expensive than it was listed on the menu online and then once you sit down and you get your menu you if you look at the small print at the bottom of the menu they inform you there will be an additional 3.5% surcharge for using your credit card or debit card because apparently they believe those are the the same thing. So unless you carry cash be prepared to not only pay him about a 12% mark up of what they have listed online but the additional 3.5% because you didn’t have cash, seriously who walks around with cash this day in age. When I tried to express that to the server, she said well can’t you just get cash from your credit card at the ATM? Isn’t that the same as a debit card?……. You also have to hand over your credit card and they disappear with it for five minutes, because as we were informed today “the terminals they bring to your table are just way too expensive” I hope she informed the manager as I requested that they lost customers today and this is not the only restaurant doing this, so definitely be aware and be prepared to pay extra for using your credit card.
