A friend recommended Hazel's and raved about the giant cinnamon rolls so that's what I was eager to get. First though, I decided to get breakfast and save the roll for "dessert" or get it to go. However, I wasn't impressed by breakfast so decided not to spend $8 ($9 with nuts) on a roll.
Two of us shared a combo platter There is a shared plate fee of $3, but it was a lot of food (it really is served on a platter!). The pancakes were good - thick and fluffy, but they deserved a better quality syrup than what was served with them so I suggest requesting some of their homemade jam (peach, strawberry, mixed berry). The bacon was thick cut, crisp, and had great flavor, but the scrambled eggs left much to be desired because they were extremely slimey (quite disgusting imo, but my significant other ate them). The couple pieces of Hazel's potatoes that I had were good, but the majority of the potatoes were drowned in the gravy covering the nearby biscuits so I didn't eat but those couple of pieces. I don't like biscuits and gravy as it is, so I didn't like that the gravy was covering the potatoes too.
It's a quaint little diner with some outdoor seating. A very country, down-on-the-farm environment. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed looking around at the wall decor and the unique sets of salt & pepper shakers at each table. I recommend giving Hazel's a try. but I won't make the drive again to make Hazel's my primary destination. I may still need to stop for one of those...
Read moreThis is going to be a little long but brides please read and keep in mind when considering this place for catering. Was hopeful about this place for catering for my wedding. I've never been here but heard good things about the food from friends and co-workers. I picked up my food last Friday, the lady who I had been working with was not there and the hostess was very apologetic about it, but she gave me instructions to microwave for a minute or two to reheat it. I went home and re-heated it within the hour because my fiance was back early from his work trip and we decided to eat it right away. The food look good and potatoes tasted good(but who can mess potatoes up), thankfully we both cut into the chicken at the same time and thankfully we didn't eat it! For it was pink and uncooked for MOST of the inside chicken, RAW! I was so shocked and disgusted but contacted Debra about the situation. I'll attach some of the extange because the customer service was AWFUL. Debra didn't care nor try to fix anything. I am so shocked by how I was treated. Instead of trying to fix the problem she kept saying that it was supposed to be reheated the next day and we really should've set up a time to eat the food at the restaurant but they have limited time available for the weekend and my fiance travels. But that has nothing to do with raw chicken. 🤮 Perhaps this place has too much business to care about one more person but that truly is not good...
Read moreI went in there today for breakfast and received the worst experience ever!
Ordered Steak and Eggs and want wanted it cooked medium well, instead I received uncooked and bloody steak twice!
I got disappointed and asked the waitress to just take it away, she said I will have them make a new plate for you, I replied okay but really saw that this place needs a new cook for sure but was polite enough to say okay.
They brought the same steak back that was still red and uncooked!
Once a steak is cooked and recooked it looses the juicy tenderness and dries out like a left over meal.
When I was served the second time with the dried out and still uncooked steak, I had no silver wear to eat it with.
I looked for the waitress and visualizing her touching her nose in the dinning room area! Fact!
I asked the bus boy for silverware instead but as I turned the plate around I noticed it was the same steak that they took away and did not make a new one Medium Well as ordered twice.
I have eaten at so many restaurants and know what’s right and what’s wrong!
Touching your face, nose in public as you serve patrons is wrong and disgusting!
Cooking it wrong twice is sad!
I asked who is the cook she said the owners son!
I have nothing personal against him or anyone , but for god sake this was a huge disappointment and a waste of my morning to say the least!
I am attaching photos of the...
