There are 2 types of people in the world: those who LOVE Jioio's, and those who are insane. Jioio's pizza is so incredibly unique and delicious, you have to try it. I never liked "thin crust" pizza before trying Jioio's and I still don't care for most thin crust pizza. But their crust is so different. It's not your typical thin, flimsy flavorless crust. Jioio's crust is amazing. The sauce is phenomenal and the toppings are always of great quality. I also feel the same way about their chicken parmesan... it's like no other chicken parm. I've ever had elsewhere. That's a staple meal for me that I get at most Italian restaurants. But Jioio's is by far the best. We always get a chicken parm dinner + a pizza to share as a family. And I like to put my pasta on the pizza as an additional topping. OUTSTANDING! The wedding soup is also great (a lot of restaurants tend to mess up wedding soup). And they give you soft, delicious thick-cut Italian bread.
The only (sort of) downsides that I can point out about Jioio's is the limited parking, which is a little challenging when it's busy, and the lack of a bar (although they do have beer available if dining in). I often pickup food to go and it would be nice to be able to sit down and have a drink while you wait. I also wish the salads were better, but I don't think I'd have room for it anyway.
My comments are specific to the Greensburg Jioio's only (Carbon). This is the original location. I've never tried the Latrobe location, but I have heard that the recipes and ingredients may be a little different. I can definitely confirm that the North Huntingdon location (which no longer exists) used different ingredients and wasn't as good as Greensburg.
Start living right this week by getting some Jioio's pizza. It will...
Read moreAbout 3pm today (April 7th Sunday) myself, my wife, mother in law were in. Service was terrible as usual here. The restaurant was not busy at this time. Took the waitress about ten minutes to take our drink order- all water. I ordered a grilled chicken salad, wife a steak salad, mother in law ziti. The waitress brought our food, 15 minutes later- garlic bread? 15 minutes later? Never saw her again until we were about done! Then she asks ‘ is everything still okay?’ Really? She never stopped earlier to see if it was okay before, so how could she say STILL okay? I told her I had 4 smaller pieces of chicken in my salad - each about the size of half a French fry! She said “oh, must have been a smaller piece of chicken they used!”. Really, I have to settle for that? Don’t they use the same amount EACH time? How about better service, maybe this.. “ I will bring you more Sir”. We get the bill, we pay then adios.. we went on line and see that the ziti my mother in law got, that she should have had a choice of meat, plain sauce. No choice by the waitress given. For the owner, blond girl/ young. You can address. Here’s what will happen. Owners will address my review on line, then will say “ I hope you come back for us to make it right/ give us a second chance...”. What are you making right? How are you addressing? In the staff’s defense, it’s likely the owner/ mgmt giving less now to increase profits/ revenue. Got to be careful as this is how you lose your customer base when the repeat customers get the shaft. In the sake of fairness, food is generally always good, love the pizza and the portions are great. Obviously, the quality of food is the most important, but one has to throw equal weight at...
Read moreI called to ask if the vegan pizza contains soy ingredients as I am on a dairy free and soy free diet due to food allergies. I called to ask and spoke to a lady (did not get her name) to ask. She stated that she wasn’t sure but it was cooked around/with items that do have dairy and soy. I stated that was fine I simply wanted to know if the ingredients themselves contained soy. She said she wasn’t sure very rudely. I asked her if she could ask and she said yes. I stayed on hold for 8 minutes waiting. Another woman, Trinity, answered asking how she could help me. I stated that I was on hold waiting for someone to get back to me about a question that I had. She stated “well we are really busy” so I asked her the same question. She said that she did not know and has no way of knowing. I said “what do you mean?” And she said once again that she had no way of knowing if the ingredients have soy. I asked her if she could ask and she remained silent. I said “hello?” And she said “is there anything else that I can help you with?” I said “are you serious, I would like to know if the ingredients have soy?” She remained silent. I asked her “is this how you treat people with food allergies?” She remained silent then asked if there was anything else that she could help me with. I said no and will NEVER order from this restaurant. Both women were EXTREMELY rude. All food items have ingredient lists on them which would state what is in it and what is not. Beware if you have food allergies don’t waste your time...
