Nick's Diner — Restaurant in Henderson Township

My parents took me to Nick's Diner in Huntingdon, PA a few times in the Summer of 2021. For the most part, it's a decent local restaurant with a vibrant and clean exterior reminiscent of a 1950's Diner (especially the black and white checkered floor tiles and neon lights at the register). The menu consisted of your typical diner entrees, I had a cheeseburger with fresh lettuce and tomatoes on it! Great stuff!

However, I was quick to notice there was only one staff member in the entire restaurant, an elderly woman named Lola. She does a good job keeping the diner operating, but I can't help but wonder if she ever gets overwhelmed with doing nearly everything, especially on busy days where there are multiple hungry customers!

On top of that, the lack of additional staff takes what could be a fun and nostalgic dining experience and instead turns it into a lonely, quiet, and listless one. Part of that was because we stopped here while I was coming home from a two-week vacation and was sad about leaving all the new friends I met during that time.

Overall, Nick's Diner is a decent eatery, but has the potential to be something incredible! I think if they hired more staff members, especially chefs and waiters, it could truly thrive! As it is, I can recommend it if you're not in a big hurry and want to...

My girlfriend and I ate at Nick's for the first time today we ordered mozzarella sticks ( they were really good) that was just an appetizer anyways I ordered breakfast and the Bacon was gross it tasted like beef jerky and was hard as a rock, the eggs tasted like they were something you would eat in outer space "didn't even have a taste" the potatoes were so dry and had no taste at all!!! So I didn't eat but a bite or so the waitress came over and noticed I didn't eat anything off my plate and I explained to her how it all tasted and she said yes we are planning on taking breakfast off the menu completely ( which I believe would be a great idea because it was the most nasty breakfast I have ever ate) anyways I feel I shouldn't have paid anything but instead of taking it off our bill they only took the Bacon off . Other then that the waitress was very Nice and I think she was scared to tell the owners. She knew that it was ridiculous and they shouldn't have charged us the first thing she said when I told her the breakfast was gross was we are taking breakfast completely off the menu I just felt if you know your breakfast is horrible then why not warn the customers or take it off the menu asap I wasted over 10 dollars on it.... if there is ever a next time I think we will just try lunch or...

Let me first say I usually never complain but honestly it pains me to even give our experience a star at all. We had hamburgers and fries and my young son had spaghetti. The hamburgers were decent but very small portions for the price. The spaghetti was terrible and that's putting it nicely. Our waitress seemed unaware of everything going on around her. She asked how our meal was. I explained that the spaghetti was terrible. (I tried it myself and couldn't make him eat it) and she says ok and hands us a bill for over $35 and walks away. Not impressed, never once asked if she could get us something instead or take it off our bill. The waitress at the counter asked how our meal was, again tried to talk to her about the horrible spaghetti. She totally ignored me and preceded to charge me the full amt.
