We were so excited after reading the reviews of this place and were anxious to try it for ourselves. Well, it turned out to be a one and done for us!!! Though Jennette was our server and she was wonderful, we left her a nice tip because she did HER job to the nth degree!!! But let me just tell you.....the food is WAY overpriced!! And not of good quality 😒. I got the chicken tenders with French fries, and it was edible. It also came with the salad bar and that was a nightmare! The lettuce was so diced up, you couldn't tell if you had any on your fork!! The ONLY thing in that bar that had any taste to speak of, were the cucumbers!!! I looked over the salad dressing to see what kinds they had and got excited to see blue cheese, my favorite!! Right?? WRONG!!! It was watered down and tasteless!!! Hubby ordered the house burger, which is basically a cheese burger with BLT and an onion ring on top, which it was....but it was LOUSY!! First off, the onion ring was so skinny it looked like you could use it for a shoelace. Secondly, the tomato was yellow, green!!!! We showed it to our server and even SHE said that it didn't look good at all!!! Upon eating the burger, my husband had a look on his face like he had just eaten a lemon!!! I took a bite of his burger and almost gagged!!! It was tasteless! It certainly didn't have the luscious taste of any Angus beef we've ever had!!! I am sooo glad we didn't take a chance and order steaks!!! We figure, if a place can't put out a decent burger, (which is basically a steak ground up), then how can they put out a good steak??? Our server brought out a basket full of "butter " in little cups and I asked her what they were for. She explained incase you order a baked potato. I said to her, these look like margarine and she said they were. At these high prices, and they give you margarine and not real butter!!!???!! What a clip joint!!! We will NOT BE BACK!!! It's sad to see how quality goes down the drain and prices soar!!! I am sure that this is not the same quality that was started out in 1994!!! The ambience has ALOT to be desired too!! We are sitting there trying to eat and in walk 5 construction workers dirty and grungy. They sit at the table near us and start "talking " ?? Cursing is more like it. Well it's not pleasant to listen to the F- word being flung around so casually...like someone was just asking for the catsup or...
Read moreWhere do I start? As we waited til 4:30pm, we should have known something because people in the lines stared at us like they never seen black people before(which is rude to stare). But we wasn’t phased by it. We sat down ordered our food(fried fish and fried green tomatoes). Both were overcooked by the way. What don’t sit right with me is that the same people that was behind us got their food(steaks) before us. And cooking fish don’t take long at all. It takes steak longer. So we waited and waited, as we waited the customers that were behind us were getting up and already finished with their food. Finally got our food, we noticed we didn’t get our Cole slaw that comes with our fried fish. Waiter stated “some people don’t want it so we don’t put it on the plate”…WELL I WANT WHAT IM PAYING FOR, and I’m not some people. What also don’t sit right with me was the “head-huncho”(older lady) asked is EVERYONE doing okay at their tables but the two of the blacks(us and a couple behind us), she didn’t say NOTHING to us(which is rude, so do better). By the way, we were still getting stared down(still didn’t bother us). But the last straw was a random waiter came to our table mistakenly asking “did yall have the 6 piece fish”….we said no the other black couple behind us I guess did. In our minds the only thing we can think about is one of the cooks said “this plate belongs to the black people at the table”. Overall, I did like the salad bar. But Henderson, TN will always feel like a sundown town to me, some people are very racist in Henderson and it shows. Honestly could have saved our $50 for the food but we heard good things about this restaurant so we wanted to try it out. But if you’re African American visiting and wanting to try their food…all I have to say be prepared! I would have loved for a team member to come to our table and ask us “are we doing okay, anything else we need” but sadly no one did they...
Read moreDefinitely busy, they are booked 15m after opening. Came last night, 2 hour wait. Came back tonight, 35m....thats fine by me as all I heard have been good things from everyone coming out. Ate alone since my friends all are losers tonight.... At least everyone else had great conversations I could listen too😂😂
The food: I ordered cheese sticks. Alittle hard, possibly overdone and weren't very hot at all, fresh is better. Served with six, with two different dipping sauces, maranara and cocktail sauce... That was a winner there, nice combo.
For dinner I had the new York strip 14 Oz cooked medium, with mushrooms and onions. Perfect steak and the onions were amazing addition to the flavor. I got a side of broccoli with cheese and it was also good. Alittle salt and I was happy. Impressed with the house made honey butter to add to the bread.
Service was pleasant, waitress tried to make small talk here and there, enough that it was appropriate but not too much for me that I wanted her to go away.
Place was clean, can't really go on there.
They gave a military discount 50% off. Best I've ever gotten anywhere. Very much appreciated. I didn't wait long for the food and was pleased with the visit. I'll be back...
