The only reasons you should ever order here: 1) only ordering ice cream 2) sitting at the outside patio for immediate consumption of food ordered. If you’re traveling home to eat with food from here (not ice cream!) I’d say skip ordering here. I went today and got an order of mozzarella sticks and a small fresh cut fry. It was nasty and inedible due to the condensation build up from the crappy plastic take out boxes that were then double knotted into a PLASTIC BAG! I thought plastic bags were outlawed in Maine? Even if they are not they’re inferior to the eco friendly paper board take out boxes that have become the gold star industry standard for many reasons!!. Also I ordered my fries well done and either they ignored that request or the oil wasn’t hot enough cause the fries were just soaked in oil and not in the good fried food way. Like soggy oil fries. Even after trying to recook them in my convection oven(cause they were already inedible I was trying to salvage them) but they were still floppy and oil soaked. The mozzarella sticks are low quality and the audacity for the price of $7.99 for 5!!! That’s $1.60 per subpar stick. Hero’s should be ashamed of themselves for this. All of this! Just to be clear I was kind to the workers and tipped even for take out. I also don’t have a long drive home and am local so this level of condensation and degradation of the food shouldn’t happen. And living in this rural area hero’s should expect their take away orders to be taking a small car ride to their destination.

During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Chocolate Explosion ice cream, which quickly became my favorite flavor. The rich and creamy texture combined with the indulgent chocolate flavors made it a truly delightful treat. Accompanying me was a lactose-intolerant friend who opted for the Lemon Sorbet. Despite its mashed potato-like appearance, my friend was pleasantly surprised by its deliciousness, finding it to be a refreshing and tangy delight. One of the conveniences of Hero's Take Out & Dairy Bar is their drive-through option. This allows you to enjoy their delectable ice cream without even leaving your vehicle, perfect for those on the go or looking for a quick treat. The staff at Hero's Take Out & Dairy Bar were friendly and provided excellent service, further enhancing the overall experience.

We heard about this new ice cream place on the local news and decided to try it out. I believe they sell Gifford ice cream. A nice selection of flavors, offered in both sugar, baby and waffle cones in 3 sizes, priced from around $3-5 for a cone and $7 for a banana split. Jimmies and other add-ons are extra. Nice outdoor seating area and "dog dishes" offered for $1.99. We would definitely go back. Four stars only because cashier was pretty much incapable of making change. Took her 3 tries and I'm som nor sure she got the snall change right because I finally just told her to put it all in the tip jar.
