Absolutely the worst place to eat. I was torn between a pastrami or beef dip. Alicia, the waitress dud not know what the soup of the day was or if their were NY daily specials. It was dinner time she said she just came in. She recommended the beef dip. So I went with that. I ordered battered beer onion rings as the side dish. The wait was long and our waitress never once approached our table until she had our food. My plate was missing the onion rings and when asked was told they ran out. She could of offered something different and advised us earlie their was an issue as she kept approaching the couple sitting in the next booth numerous times to see if they needed anything. The bread was soft however the beef was old and only had two slices of beef on it where it lookedije they tried to stretch it to fit the length of the bun. It didn't even cover half the bread. There were nopickles, onions or musard as requested. The waitress knew I was not happy as I pushed the plate towards her that this is not acceptable. I opened up the sandwich and asked her where the meat was, she said that's how they always make them. I asked for a manager and she told me she would let the Manger know. This now caused an issue with my husband. He was very hungry. I told him to finish eating. However, the meal he got which was some bacon burger wasn't even cooked in the middle. It was pink and raw. He stopped eating his and wanted to just eat mine but I had been waiting for the manager to come. The waitress approached the table next to us asked if they wanted desert and brought them to go boxes. Still waiting for a manager I asked our waitress as to how much longer before one was coming.. she said one isn't coming that she will let him know about not being happy with the sandwich when he comes to work on Wednesday. Um, so I was waiting for what? Nothing. My husband said he might as well eat it since their charging us for it. He took several bites and didn't like it either. He ate 1/4 his food and1/4 mine. The waitress brought us the bill for which she charged us for both meals in full, extra for the onion rings we never received and had the rudest attitude I've ever witnessed of a waitress. Shortly after that we ran into a person we work with who had food in Styrofoam that he just ordered from the outpost. Low and behold he had a side of battered beer onion rings, the same ones Alicia told us they do didn't have yet charged us for anyway. Our mean was horrible and obvious the cook didn't know what he was doing. I called Wednesday so many times but no would answer the phone. At around 420pm someone answered and I asked to speak with a manager and they told me he hadn't come in for the day. To call back. Which I did and he still wasn't their. This place is a joke no one really running things and no one holding anyone accountable for thir actions. Ruuiiiinnnnnnnnnnn don't walk its a big waste of money and time. I'd give it no stars if I could and Alicia you have no people skills. Nothing...

Read moreThis is actually overdue, as my wife and I are semi regular patrons.
Service here is always impeccably spot on. Special orders are always treated like a regular order; these ladies have heard it all before, and nothing phases them.
Today was particularly busy, as the weather was pretty bad ( LA blizzard warning ) so of course, everyone wants to eat and wait it out. However, patrons were still allowed to seat themselves, there was no fuss or muss, and our server, Dee, never missed a beat, and remained even keeled and pleasant. She made my day.
Dee, you are a class act.
My wife ordered a Reuben with their version of home fries, with fried egg added to the sandwich. The home fries were just like I made at home: unevenly sized, some parts a bit darker than others, and hot; in other words, just as they should be.
I made the mistake of ordering the road kill omelet without those potatoes in it. Don't judge me, I I've already done so. But I did order the grits as a side. Smooth , creamy, and a bit lumpy, just like home. The gentleman at the table behind me loved them as much as I did.
I wrote this review not because the restaurant needs it, but because good food and service, both at once, can be a challenge to receive while on the road. Good comfort food in a diner should be the norm. You will...
