Hopefully they work out the kinks soon. We arrived at 8:20pm, and were told that there was one party to be seated ahead of us, and that they were clearing a table for them, so we would have the next table. We saw that some people left and our table was cleaned, and then waited to be seated...and waited...and waited (not exaggerating, it was a minimum 10-15 minutes AFTER our table was ready for us before we were seated). I wasn't even upset about the wait, but when we tried to order, they were out of so many things. Fried jalapeños? Out. Chicken bites for the kids? Out. Chips and queso? Out. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg on it, and it was fantastic. I had a side of onion rings, which were too greasy, but otherwise just okay. My son had a Buffalo Chicken sandwich and fries. The kiddo had a kids meal with a cheeseburger fries and a drink (for $6.50, which was fine). Hubby had cheese curds, and no actual meal. I had a Coke. And my husband 1 beer, my son had 2 beers, for a total of 3 draft beers. Our check was $82 before the tip. Not even kidding. It was alright, but overpriced. I may give it a while, and try again. My husband and son both say they'll never go back. Our waitress, Angel, was fantastic. My issues with the service were not with her, but with having to sit there and look at our beckoning table for so long that they literally ran out of food WHILE we were waiting. (Again, no exaggerating. We saw them deliver queso to another table, which was when we decided to try it. But, by the time we could order, they had sold out.)
If you enjoy a good burger, and don't mind paying $20 for your meal, you might try this place. But my favorite burger joint in Waco is still Dub-L-R, and I will just have to keep trekking to the North side, where I can get a better burger...
Read moreAlright, so this is a bit of a roller coaster. Place is a sports bar at its core; 10-12 big screen televisions with sports on and a bar that dominates the space. There is approximately 10 tables inside and a half dozen maybe on the patio. We experienced a 30-45 minute wait time (on a Friday night, so an acceptable wait). It is a bit chaotic and loud, between music playing and conversations, so hard of hearing, be warned.
Two adults, two teenagers cost just over $100 with two appetizers, four entrees, two milkshakes and a dessert, par for the course.
The food was alright. Burgers were good, appetizers were good. We got chips and salsa with queso, which was a expected, although I do enjoy the salsa. It definitely isn't hot, so if that's your desire, you'll need to look elsewhere. The Wisconsin Cheese Curds were good, fried cheese is great no matter what.
Now the nitty gritty:
Specialty burgers jump majorly in price very quickly. They are not served with sides, which is a bummer, but the options are solid (French fries, tots, fried okra, sweet potato fries). There is a number of toppings you can add to a burger or sandwich, but that's where it really ramps up the price.
The biggest complaint: all the fried foods (French fries, tots, cheese curds, corn dog) tasted like funnel cake. They do have funnel cake fries (which are good), but with everything tasting like fair food, it didn't sit...
Read moreFood was ok, nothing special. Service was bad. Myself and 2 friends were meeting my elderly (mid 80's) parents there. I asked for table for 5 and was told we we have sit outside. The temperature was in the 30's and the wind speed was greater than 20 miles an hour. I told the hostess of my elderly parents pending arrival and she said we could set on elevated chairs at the bar. I replied that my parents were in their 80's and that was an impossibility. I got a scowl and an eye role and was told we would have to wait, despite that there were 2 open tables that could've been pushed together, because they weren't in close enough proximity to one other. We waited a half hour while others were seated until they felt tables close enough could be acquired for us. It then took 15 minutes for someone to approach us to take our order and after that another 30 to receive it. Normally after the eye roll, I would have walked out, but this was where my parents wanted to meet and I was just passing through from out of town. Elderly people are a treasure not a nuisance, your staff could use a lesson in empathy and...
