Sunrise Bakery and Pizzeria — Restaurant in Hibbing

I have used Sunrise bakery multiple times over the last few years to order cakes. While the first cake we ordered was wonderful and encouraged us to continuing ordering from Sunrise, it has only been downhill and I will no longer be purchasing from Sunrise Bakery. Each subsequent cake order continued to disappoint at another level: 1. cupcakes with plastic rings; 2. frosting that tasted like toothpaste for a 4 and 8 year old birthday; and 3. I sent a picture of the pinata we were using at the party and they printed the picture of the pinata and stuck it on the cake. The final straw was an online cake order for a baby shower that was NEVER MADE! I went to pick it up and it wasn't there. Yes, I received confirmation that they received my order, but they never made the cake. I continued to use them because they are a local bakery. I ordered several items on 12/15/23 for Christmas. I never received the order, or any explanation as to why I did not receive the order. I even called and left a message a couple days before Christmas. I never received a call back.

I had to request a refund, and received it with an email confirming the credit, but absolutely no apology or explanation as to why I never received the order.

I had a house full of family and no potica, strudel, or cardamom bread. I was so disappointed. I want to shop local and intended on ordering from them again next year, but I wanted some kind of explanation. I wanted to know this wasn’t going to happen again next year.

When I reached out to them via Facebook messenger and email they seemed unconcerned and put the blame on UPS. When I called UPS they said they never received the package.

this is the second year in a row that the cake i ordered for my wifes b-day is wrong. The picture i asked to have on it wasnt there. I asked for double the amount of raspberry filling, there isnt even the standard amount, barely any at all. But even more so, this cake is over baked to the point I cant even eat it. I will be returning it tomorrow. I am very disappointed. I am updating this and adding two stars. When I returned the cake, the two ladies that helped me were very kind, helpful, and sympathetic, and also agreed the cake was horrible. They gladly refunded me, and also added some treats, plus told me to pick something else Id like. I am more than happy with their handling the matter that I was very uncomfortable with.
