Eabyss — Restaurant in High Springs

Alert: Ordered Bourbon Chicken to go and advised 15 minutes. No one in lobby and no others waiting and they began preparing my meal when I arrived at 15 minutes. I paid $9.50 and added a gratuity for a $7.95 lunch special. Left and found my order was small breaded chicken bits in green pepper and onion sweet and sour sauce... the rice was also somehow cold. I returned to the store and told them I ordered "Bourbon Chicken" not sweet and sour chicken. Then a young man and check out clerk proceeded to try to gaslight me... said "this is how we make bourbon chicken with the peppers and onions" (with sweet and sour sauce lmao) So whatever you might order... be prepared for whatever they feel like making at the moment and for them to then tell you that what you specifically did not order... is what you meant to order when you ordered it. Deserves negative star rating and will recommend to everyone that they do not waste...

I wonder were my review I left years ago went? Anyway. This place was opened by two younger people and they poured their hear and soul into this place. The food, decorations, etc. It was never one of those red and black text typical Chinese menu places (you know what I mean) . Then one day, those two were gone to be replaced by a new older group and the food quality TANKED. It was horrible. A flood of bad reviews came in. THANKFULLY, they listened. The community wanted things done the way it was when the younger two ran that place. The new group managed to turn things around. The food is great and there are some amazing unique items. The prices are great (especially lunch) and portions are very generous.

NOTE - I am hearing around town that they are slipping again. I have not been there since August 2021. So my review is based on that time period. I will have to check...

My food was undercooked. When I went back she explained for 15 minutes why I couldn't get a refund. As they always under cool their vegetables. She said I should have asked for it to be well done.

When on earth have you had to tell a Chinese restaurant to cook food well done? Never!

She then said If I had said that the food was nasty. She would have refunded all of my money period but since I said that it was undercut when that's the way they cook it, she only refunded half of my money. Then she counted each piece that we ate. And she says since you ate this. We can't refund that since you bit this, we can't refund that. First time I ever had an negotiate a refund! Will...
