This place is a NIGHTMARE. Let me preface this review by saying I grew up (and still live right around the corner) from Mulligan's. I've worked in the restaurant business for half my life as a cook, waiter, manager, host... you name it, I did it. Last night was the most uncomfortable and disrespected I've ever been at a business. After dinner and a show to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, our group decided to stop at Mulligan's for one drink before we all went our separate ways. It's 11:30 at night, and from the moment you walked in, the smell of a mop bucket was over powering. Not my favorite smell while eating or drinking, but I get it, the place has got to be cleaned up towards the end of the night. It soon became apparent why the place smelled like you had just been through the mop bucket's wringer. The staff here had 2 unattended mop buckets just sitting in the dining room. After my girlfriend's mom said that the smell was really starting to bother her, I asked the staff if there's anyway they could just get these smelly things away from us since nobody is using them. This was the beginning of the insanity. The staff took great offense to this request. It's not like we were asking them to stop cleaning, or to work later. We just wanted them to pull the unused mop bucket out of the dining room (3ft away from us), so that the smell was not so overwhelming. We were ignored. The next thing I know, the kitchen door is whipped open and the cook pushes it CLOSER to us, and uses it to prop open the kitchen door. The door holds open by itself, you don't even need a door stop. So this employee was clearly trying to make some point to us by slamming doors and shoving the issue we were having right in our faces. I asked him again, "Is there anyway we can get this thing away from the table?". Ignored. Now it's time to get the manager, and get this resolved. We flag her down, and we explain what is going on. While I'm talking to her, the cook bursts out from the kitchen again and says "This guy (me) doesn't like the smell in here. Why don't you get the F* out?!". My jaw dropped. A gasp let out from the other guests at our table. This became a circus in an instant. Our party's age ranged from 30-70, there were 8 of us or so. We weren't being rude or unreasonable by any means. We all look at the manager, Melinda, to see what is going to happen next. Clearly, this is not normal or safe behavior by anybody. Melinda proceeds to explain that it was us that was out of line! I've never been so blown away. I felt like I was in some bizarre trashy nightmare. This isn't the only bar that Jay Wright owns around here. I've actually waited on him, and his wife a few times, they are nice people. With that being said, the staff at this bar does not reflect the values of our community. Bullying and intimidation have no place in the hospitality business, or in our neighborhood. Please do us all a favor Mr. Wright, let your staff know that it's not appropriate to treat people so disrespectfully. This was the last time I will ever step foot in Mulligan's. WHAT...
Read moreI have been going to Mulligan’s for years I will say from a food perspective they are amazing!
However their customer service needs a lot of work! My experience this past Sunday is enough for me to never come back! Our waitress was extremely rude and impolite not only to us but to the table of young ones next to us as well as others. As a result the only other waitress was picking up her slack due to her negligence with the customers. We initially had a the nice waitress, who is always nice, she took our drink orders. When it came to ordering our food the service went down hill really fast! This woman does not need to work with the public!!!! She really needs to retire.
The waitress took our order that was ok not the most pleasant didn’t mention her name (or else it would be in this review) but that was fine if she would have kept that level of energy the review wouldn’t be so bad. She came to bring our food to the table everyone ordered wings specifically two of us had ordered Carolina Gold wings but prepared differently as she noted when taking the order. One order cooked well done the other order extra sauce with a side of sauce. So when she came to the table she said “Carolina gold wings” I politely said are these the ones cooked well done or extra sauce? We have two orders for different people want to make sure I’m grabbing the right thing. She look at me rolled her eyes shrugged her shoulders and said, “what!” I kindly repeated myself she ignored me and slid the food on the table as if we were animals. Then she returns with the rest of our food doesn’t care who it belongs to and reaches over my son and puts all the food on the table and walks away. Never opened her mouth. She returned probably about 30 minutes later and takes my son’s plate away from him. Did not ask if he was done eating which he was not! She did not even come back to close out our bill the other waitress did. She was pretty much left working all of the tables because of this ladies horrible nasty attitude and behavior.
She was noted being rude to multiple customers while we were there. A group of well mannered teens came in and were seated next to our tables she spoke so degrading to them when getting their drink order as if they were doing something wrong. She was noted throwing a cleaning rag in a bucket missed it and hit an older lady customer sitting in the booth near the bucket station. The woman’s back was too her and she was confused as she did not know where it came from. The waitress did not even acknowledge the woman at the table or apologize. She knew what she had done.
We also noted her telling a customer at the door they never had to come back!
I know workers are hard to find but people like here will ruin your business. Again the food is amazing and over all the staff is fine not always the best but it’s bar so I’m not expecting Morton’s Steakhouse service. However this behavior is so good acceptable on so many levels.
Again the food is great atmosphere is family friendly. The one star review is based on the...
Read moreThe two barmaids are SO arrogant, nasty and rude, and the food is greasy and lousy. I ordered a sandwich and the "homemade" kettle chips were soggy, greasy and NOT crispy or crunchy. The one barmaid who took my order and the other brought out my meal and basically dropped my plate in front of me turned her back and strolled away...I asked her if they had sour cream for the chips and she ignored me and kept walking back into the kitchen. The barmaid who took my order said they had sour cream, so I asked her if I could please have one, to which she looked at me for a second then turned her back on me and started fiddling with the cash register or something, and proceeded to ignore my request, so I stood up and walked into the kitchen and asked one of the cooks for the sour cream and he handed me one. I had to get it myself. I recognized the barmaid who walked away from me…On another occasion, when her shift was over she actually stole my seat at the bar and when I came back she just stared at me with her nasty blank stare. The barmaid who took my order was useless, unfriendly and I wondered why I choose Mulligan's for a Friday meal and beer…The food was awful, the barmaids are nasty and I will NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER waste my time or money at this dive. There are MANY better places to eat, such as Austin's Steak House, B-Rox, and just about ANY other place in the area. Don't waste your time or money at Mulligan's. Just let that place go out of business. They don't deserve to stay...
