This place has my favorite Indonesian vegan options. I am Indonesian and it is hard to find vegan Indonesian options since most Indonesians cook with trasi or fermented shrimps. This place is owned and run by a Seventh Day Adventist who doesn’t eat shellfish. Thus lots of their dishes are vegan!!! The taste is pretty authentic and spicy. Thus the name of the place is Tempeh House Spicy Food! Tempeh is Indonesian origin. I grew up eating tempeh and love tempeh before becoming a vegan and before tempeh is popular among vegans.
My favorite vegan dishes from here are kale curry, Spicy Tempeh Stir Fry, Sayur Lodeh, Sambal Goreng Tempeh, Nasi Kuning, Ketoprak, Steamed Spiced Tofu in Banana Leaves, Fried Tempeh, Fried, Tofu, Es Cendol, emping, garlic krupuk, and tofu in soy sauce. Many! The dishes mostly served on a steam table. Ask which dishes are vegetarians with no eggs or vegans.
The only thing is the place is not fancy. It is kind of a hole in the wall kind of place. It sits on a funky small strip mall in an industrial area by the airport. I don’t mind eating in this kind of establishment but I don’t bring certain friends here. Ha ha. I usually come with my brother and my husband, just families. However the price is realiy good and the portion is HUGE! The taste is yummmmy. Thus I keep coming back although it takes an hour to get there. That...

Nasi yellow Goreng, dang good That yellow looking chicken curry 🍛 thingy, super fantastic over steamed "White" rice Black chicken stuff, not too shabby. The fried tofu, crunchy, ahh... superb! The best part is the Chips, interesting taste, it's like the Indo version of Pringles, once it crunches in my mouth, cannot stop munching!
Keep it up... any thoughts of opening another maybe closer...
Read moreThis place is so awesome! I'm not a fan of spicy food however all of the food is so flavorful here. I suffer through the heat with a large cup of ice water LOL. I seem to continue to get the same things because I'm so in love with it; the kale, the Jackfruit, the potatoes and stinky beans, all of the rice is tasty too. They offer yellow, turmeric, and Jasmine rice's and you certainly have to try the fried Tempe. The Jasmine tea that comes in a little jucie box is not only cute its tasty with not too much sugar. Its never been extremely crowded during my visits, although I always order to go they offer dine in seating. This place is certainly a hidden gem here in...
