The wife and I were craving some tacos this spot came recommended by one of my many sisters so we decided to take the drive and check em out we had the vampiros, tacos de arrachera, asada, al pastor, and a torta de arrachera all tacos con cilantro and cebolla of course and to wash it all down una agua de tamarindo the arrachera is really well seasoned as well as the asada but when it came to the al pastor it was slacking some flavor the torta was delicious but personally when I think of a torta it should have the works lettuce tomato onion aguacate cream or mayo if your a fan and what ever else it come with but this one didnât have tomato or onion now we think of this as standard but hey everyplace is different and Iâm pretty sure we couldâve added it if we asked but the salsas were delicious especially if you mix them now weâre definitely mixers here the vampiros were out of this world and we even tried to recreate them here at home and were very successful their tamarindo agua is delicious and doesnât miss but since the first time we tried it weâve gone back at least 4 times there location is beautiful they have amazing outdoor seating with some nice lights to light up the night my only complaint is I wish they were opened later as the wife and I work pretty...
Read more(I went a second because my friend wanted to go even tho I warned him it would probably still be as crappy as the first time we went and the al pastor meat was still dry and that meat on the spit looked the same, I am convinced it's a movie prop al pastor meat...) Alpastor pretty dry, meat on the spit was not spinning, first red flag... Second reg flag is I ordered a alpastor burrito and they never sliced any meat off the spit? Uh? Okay? Haha not a good sign . I think they had meat from yesterday and just slapped it on the grill for us in front of our faces. Zero shame. Cool. They seemed to be more concentrated on outgoing orders than dining in. Cool... and by cool I mean not cool at all. Probably never going there again to be honest but it's the most authentic Mexican food in the area other than my kitchen or grill. If you want, I'll come back with my friend and you guys can give us proper burritos with double meat PROPER and I'll raise your rating lol... I saw more lettuce than meat and that's the third red flag. And that concludes my rant. In the end it did hit the spot slightly (not really) but can't help but feel like it could've...
Read moreGreat and amazing things come in small packages and La Plancha Loca is a perfect example of this saying. The place is small but very bright, the smells of the food that roam the air make your mouth water. The friendliness of the staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed. The food is unbelievably delicious, don't just take my word. The amount of people you see gather inside and outside will confirm how much people enjoy the food. Everything is fresh, the portions are extremely generous. The salsas are out of this world. I am very picky about Mexican food; I have lived in the NorthShore all my life and have never found a decent place to eat Mexican food. I have become a regular customer from the first day I stepped foot in their door. The food has become a regular stapple in my home. They also have the BEST "Taco Tuesday"...
