Updated Review: My wife and I had a lovely visit to the rooftop at Longitud315, enjoying music wafting through the air from "Nashwood" festival next door. Our meal was fantastic as always. We started with the crisp and tasty empanadas, followed by perfectly grilled Mussels Flameados. My wife then had her favorite, the flame grilled Pork Scho with Brazilian Mojo.
But the highlight of my meal was the luscious Chupil Dd Camarones (shrimp sauteed in garlic with Amarillo Aji. I literally wiped the bowl with the accompanying flatbread. The shrimp is so craveable, I could have just kept on going had there been more (and there was a nice portion). One of the best single dishes of food I have had anywhere. (but you need to love garlic!). I had the pleasure of being able to share my feelings direclty to chef Tony Castillo, who seemed genuinely touched by how much I loved it.
Another favorite of mine has been Moro A La Sau Paulooo (skirt steak stuff with wild mushroooms and onions, served with rice with beans and sausage. It is such a wonderful dish also, and a bit more filling than the shrimp. So I have to gauge my choices at this fantasic restuarant by how hungry I really am. But what a wondeful dilemma....so many outstanding choices. PLUS delicious home made plantain chips with chimichurri sauce. Wow!
Always consistently special. Food is phenomenal at very...
Read moreWe came from down the street after a disappointing experience at a neighboring bar. My girlfriend, who's birthday was being celebrated, said "let's go home". I said that there are nice restaurants in the area. Let's walk down down the block and see what our choices for dinner are. We almost walked right by when I looked in the window and doubled back to read the menu. When my girlfriend realized it was south American cuisine and not just another Mexican restaurant, she almost pushed me in the door. Nice atmosphere with a variety of table heights, which is nice for tall folk. The host actually asked where we wanted to sit. We were immediately greeted with a basket of crispy fried plantains with chimmichuri sauce. Delicious! Wine list was very very nice both by the glass and bottle. Menu had a wide selection of meat and meatless choices. We had one of each. The chef's special had 3 different meats, all Delicious! The meatless was a large acorn squash as a serving bowl with a meddly of vegetables mixed with the squash meat and a tasty sauce. It was one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever tasted. Oh, by the way the service was impeccable. A team approach where the entire staff contributed to yield a great experience. Give this restaurant a try! We are glad we did. It...
Read moreService I would say is 5 starts. After they brought me a cold dish that supposed to be hot, they offered a dessert for free. Because I am pregnant I had a virgin mojito and it was great. Also the atmosphere was good for a Friday night out.
Food/prices... Well this the reason I am not coming back. My husband took me there, we drove around 45 minutes and that's ok. We ordered the pork chops and the shredded pork (it has a different name on the menu, I believe piggy pork or some like that). The plates costed $27 and $29. My plate the shredded pork, rice and plantains where brought to me cold and tasted like left overs re heated badly. I returned the plate and they made me a new plate without a problem, but still I don't think it was worth the money. I can get better pork and rice at a cheap Mexican place. It was lack of flavor and authenticity. I tried my husband's pork chops and it just had flavor on the outside, it looks like it was marinated 5 minutes before they cooked it.
Prices vs quality and quantity: no worth it. As a Latina and foodie person I can say they need to look into the freshness of their food and the flavors that represents latino/Hispanic food.
Is ok you can go there but don't set your expectations so high at least for the...
