OMG!!!! I can’t tell you enough about how much I enjoyed this place!!!! I had heard great things about it but wanted to try it for myself. I believe the lady’s name is Angie greeted us with such a sweet spirit and shared in our enthusiasm about what we were going to try. I’m a big southern fried girl and pork chops are a MUST! I am also a Mac ‘n’ cheese connoisseur! I got the porkchop plate with Mac’n’cheese and corn and an order of onion rings….don’t judge me! 😂 My friend ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger all the way and the appetizer size cheese fries. They brought the food out in to go boxes, not because we ordered it to go but because they give you so much they already know you’re going to need a box! One less step for all of us. To say it was delicious would be an understatement. It was truly one of the best porkchops I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a ton of porkchops! The best compliment came from my friend who said as he was taking the last couple of bites of his burger, “Its weird to say but I’m so sad that it’s gone.” That’s so seriously good food my friends, when your heart is a little broken that there isn’t any more. To the gentleman in the back, if you’re single….you don’t have to be!!! 😉
If you’re ever in Hillsborough, NC, you have to check this place out. I promise you won’t be disappointed and if by chance you are the odd one that is, you might wanna get checked for COVID because obviously something is wrong with your sense of taste.

Read moreStopped in at Bob's City Grill today after hearing more and more good things about it via random folks and forums. I honestly didn't even know it existed until a few months ago, but I think it has been there awhile. Well I must say, it did not disappoint. The burger was ENORMOUS and cooked just right. Plenty of toppings in the form of tomatoes, onions, pickles and two massive slabs of bacon. See the picture for reference on size of the patty and bacon. The best part was that it was not one of those weak skinny patties that so many places flatten out to make large, This thing had some heft to it. So much so, that when I received my to go bag from the counter, I immediately noticed what seemed to be an unusually heavy bag for a single burger and fries. My first thought was "if this is all food, I am gonna be in some serious pain later if I eat all of it". I have to say, it was all food for sure, and I made a what I believe to be a valiant effort to finish it, but my dog is currently thanking the cooks over at Bob's for their generous burger and french fry servings. Also, the fries are delicious. Just the right crinkle style and not too firm nor soft with a little seasoning that tasted like old bay or similar. Taking off one star because there was a small hint of fried fish taste on the fries, so I'm assuming someone cooked in the wrong fryer or they have a dual use fryer for fish and fries. Overall, very good stuff, and it should easily be 4.75 stars, but I do not have that option. Go to Bob's! Don't let the exterior turn you away. It is...
Read moreBig Bob’s City Grill is not in the city. And I’m not sure how big Big Bob is, but the guy I could see cooking in the kitchen looked pretty average.
None of this matters.
Wherever they are and whoever cooks it, BBCG serves up a fine lunch.
First of all, if you come here, be prepared to EAT, because the portions of everything tend to be very generous. The burger patty (see photo) is easily five inches in diameter and close to an inch thick. It had a good taste, but I wish I had requested medium.
As far as the hot dog, I have found yet another place that has a really tasty dog. Everything was great: flavorful wiener (though I am very uncomfortable saying that), good chili, fresh slaw—scrumptious! I thought the slaw was going to be too wet, but it was not, and tasted great.
The crinkle fries had a nice seasoning but were otherwise unremarkable.
The person at the counter who takes the orders is very cheerful and pleasant. Though you order and pay at the counter, she brings your food out to you. The place is very small with limited seating, and a number of people come in to get to-go orders. Definitely a hole in the wall.
They also have some home cooking on their menu offerings. I saw one gentleman come in and order the fried pork chops, pinto beans, and cabbage. It looked delicious, and the two fried porkchops were as gigantic as the burger patty that I had.
Neat little hole in the wall worth checking out if you are near...
