My husband and I drove our motorcycles to this location. The ride was fantastic but the restaurant is very difficult to find (on a dirt road). We actually drove right by it and someone had to point it out to us. Exactly what we expected and were looking for - rustic with really good seafood. My husband and I had the fried shrimp, french fries, and coleslaw. The shrimp are very lightly coated with what appears to be flour and corn meal and were sweet and fresh. The french fries are hand cut and the coleslaw is really good. We ordered a slice of key lime for desert, homemade by a woman who sells the pies to the restaurant. I don't really like key lime bit but this pie was fantastic. We loved this place and will want to come back. The only reason why I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the cost. We were there for lunch - I had a small fried shrimp, my husband had a large fried shrimp, two sodas, and one slice of key lime pie cost us $48...
ย ย ย Read moreI don't write many reviews, but probably should. I just spent 2 weeks in the savannah, GA area for work. During that time I found several little restaraunts hidden in the backwaters.
This place was by far the coolest little hole in the wall I've found yet. I'm big on atmosphere, and if I'm being honest, atmosphere even makes the food better for me. This place didn't need any help. I ordered grilled grouper, grilled scallops, Cole slaw and fries. Everything that I ordered was great. Very rarely do I genuinely like every part of my order. I did here.
If you are passing through southern ga on 95,or staying in the area,or are even a local who hasn't tried it ..get your butt in there for some food. I'll be...
ย ย ย Read moreHunter's Cafe in Shellman Bluff Georgia is a hidden gem ๐! It's well off the beaten path, yet located in Downtown Shellman Bluff! Rustic bar with stools and booths to eat and drink, with full bar and restaurant menu. There's also a separate dining room. Food was good with reasonable prices. Very nice bartender. Beware, Big Rigs! There's only ONE parking spot down there (across from the Bait Shop) and we lucked out to get it. We arrived at 4pm and they don't open till 5pm. Also, clearance under Cypress trees is limited; we're 10-11 feet, careful, and were fine. Hint: You'll say Google Maps is crazy when she tells you to turn towards the waterfront, however, not all the roads go through and around, so...
