Urban Counter - Hinsdale — Restaurant in Hinsdale

Very sad. Went there on a whim. Had an appointment across the street and THOUGHT I had enough time to grab lunch (45 min). 2 people ahead of me had already ordered. Ordered the Glazed Burger with fries. Thy hey had a deal, free fries today (thursday). Cost, burger, fries, drink $9.19. Then, I sat down. Waited, waited, and waited. 20 min goes by, no one has been served. A customer walks in, counter girl says "it will be 5 minutes before I can take your order". That guy left, and so did the next two. 25 min have gone by, 1st customer served, then they served more, including customers who ordered after me! I went up to the counter to ask, and the girl said, "Oh, you had the glazed, right? It will be up in a minute." They gave it to me, I attempted to eat it. 1st bite, sloppy condiments, burger fried out and overcooked. Then, it got worse, bite in the 3rd time, tasted burned. Opened the sandwich, and low and behold, its burned terribly (see the picture). Now, I have no time to even deal with the issue. I just threw everything away and just left. Not hungry anymore, lost my appetite. Usually, I'll give someone a 2nd chance, but, I dont think I'll even bother. I can get great burgers all over Chicagoland so no...

$9+ and over 15min wait for a burger & fries at a gas station grill??!!! Ridiculous! Went during lunch hours for the 1st time, & should've turned around after seeing the chaos behind the counter! Random, walk-in customers-DON'T bother if on lunch break or want "fast" food!!!

[We] the customers in line were ignored while the cashier took on phone orders. After a several minutes & no apologies for the wait, someone finally jumped on the second register. I grew more & more annoyed as people ran in & out with their phone orders, while the waiting customers' orders weren't even getting started (& note-there were 5-6 scampering workers behind the counter!!). After over 15min (w/me checking in about my order & still no apologies), I got it & stormed out po'd! I admit, the blue cheese burger was actually pretty damn good (hence, 2 stars). I would've have otherwise rated them 1 star due to faulty service & underdone fries.

Word of advice, UC- DON'T take on more than you can handle (ph orders + deliveries!). Couple people should focus only on calls & their food prep, and the rest should cater to in-store orders. SIMPLE! (NOTE- Given I really liked the burger, I may give them 1 more shot in non-peak hrs &/or CALL it...

I love this burger spot in Hinsdale and I definitely missed it after not being able to visit it for a long time. I was so excited when I am on my way to the place but I did not expect the experienced I had when I visited it. The place is clean and just basically the same like before but the staff they have now are not really friendly and can be considered as rude. I did not receive a greet or anything while I was ordering in the counter and it was like I was saying my order and the staff is just listening and just like that. I literally want to leave the place after that encounter to the staff but I had no choice because I really miss the foo on this place. I was just thankful that the burger I ordered is hot and fresh and it definitely tastes delicious. The burger definitely lessens the negative vibe I had from their customer service but I cannot just let it pass. The burger in here is seriously good and frankly, their customer service needs an improvement. Customers like me does not only want or deserve good food from a place like this but also a better treatment...
