Denny's — Restaurant in Hobart Township

My experience started out fine We sat ourselves it was slow when we came in. Our waitress Sylvia knew my friend so he pleasantly said hello & was trying to just chitchat & she brushed him off saying that she couldn't talk if he wasn't going to order she would have to come back when we are (which I could understand if the place was busy but we where honestly only customers here) Then we wanted milkshakes she said they didn't have any ice cream although a different waitress that had just clocked in asked us if she could help us w/ anything & we jokingly said "you could go get ice cream so we could get a shake", & we went to look at the stuff in the little store, when we got back we had shakes, THANK YOU ROSY!, shame on you Sylvia!! As we proceeded to eat our meals I had asked for a glass of ice water & by this time there was 9 tables & 3 waitresses so from my experience from waitressing not busy 3 tables per waitress. Well I had again asked Sylvia for my water as she was walking by, she replied again 1 minute, well I waited 8 more minutes @ which point I was angry bc I was quite thirsty so I went to the bar counter where she was cleaning & asked again she again replied your going to have to give me a minute, which made me absolutely furious so I told her I have already been waiting over 20 minutes, to which she loud & rudely says you are not the only customer here. Which true I was not but I was the only one w/out a drink she also had audacity to take a glass of water to a customer at another table, then to top off her very unprofessional, rude, & very lousy service she tells my friend Don't bring g her in here again, WOW!!! REALLY!! I hope Sylvia was just having a bad day & I just happened to urke her for her own personal reasons bc if that's how she waitresses She should be fired immediately!! Food...

This place went from awesome to horrible. Below this review you will see my previous great review. But for now I am dropping this place down to a 2 star review. First off, the waitress never wrote down our order. She took it by memory. I ordered my steak medium to medium rare. My friend ordered his steak medium. Both of us received them well done. My friend conceded and ate his steak. I did not.. The waitress took it back and I got the second steak extremely rare. Barely any sear on either side and the steak was raw purple in the center. I had the waitress take it away and I emphasized medium to medium rare. The third steak came back well done. I gave up, told the waitress to forget about it, and ate the lousy t-bone steak. There was no comping of my check. Nothing. Management never came over to apologize. Nothing.

I hesitate to even leave my previous review because this current experience was soooooo bad, but here it is:

About 2 months ago I gave this place a 5 star review. I have retracted that. Back then the T-bone steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and fried zucchini and squash was delicious. They cooked my steak a perfect medium with pink all the way through, just as I like it. The waitress was great and I even got my 10% discount for being a military veteran....

I will never visit this restaurant again. Someone needs to come in and get a handle on the staff. I drive truck....2nd time in 2 weeks I ate hear I figured I would give it another try. As soon as you walk in at least 6 tables haven't been cleared it took 10 minutes just to get a menu then she walked around like a lost puppy for 30 minutes before we had to just call for her attention the intire staff was to busy talking with each other to focus on the job at hand. We got our food and the person I was with received a cold steak sandwich due to sitting almost an hour waiting on our food not to mention how many time the waitress passed our table with out once refilling our drinks. So we asked to make a new sandwich and waited and waited we then asked after almost 30 minutes where is the new order and they completely forgot about it but you can hear them talking in the kitchen about just popping the old one in the microwave so the person I was with said you are not microwaving that sandwich are you they insisted they were not then all 30 seconds later she got a new sandwich all tough to chew and all you can hear is the cook talking and talking to who ever and not focused one bit on his job. The intire staff needs to be replaced...
