This was recommended to us by the hotel clerk in Great Bend "if you want really good Mexican food" and she was right. Everything was delicious. The portion sizes were maybe a little smaller than I'm used to, but ended up being perfect for 1 meal without leftovers.
I was a little taken aback by the extra charge after the first basket if chips and bottle of salsa, but I will say that the prices are very reasonable on most everything (3 flour tortillas for $4.00 wasn't something I would have paid if I had thought to ask the price up front).
The drink special in Tuesdays of 3 small margaritas in 3 different flavors was wonderful and a really good deal at $5.75 (as of September 2025).

Read moreMy husband and I just happened to stop at Mi Tierra while traveling through Hoisington, Kansas, on a road trip. Had no clue of the quality except for the crowd of cars parked on the street in front. And… we were delighted!
We live in Santa Fe, NM, a foodie town if there ever was one and no slouch in the Mexican food category. But we were delighted with the chips and excellent salsa at Mi Tierra, and our two entrees were both outstanding. We agreed that Mi Tierra would be a "keeper" even in Santa Fe.
Our original plan was to stick around this area for a couple of days to bird the wetlands. Now we look forward to returning to Mi Tierra for lunch tomorrow, before hitting...
